Deja Vu

"Damn it." I cursed as I glanced behind me briefly before bringing my gaze back in front of me, dodging the trees as I ran blindly. Breathing heavily, I looked for a spot to hide as I stumbled upon what appeared to be an abandoned cabin.

I tried all the doors quickly and windows but didn't find any unlocked, causing me to lean against the side of the building as I tried to catch my breath, not wanting to risk breaking a window or door down and the Walkers hearing. I hoped I could hide along the side as they passed by, not noticing me as I glanced down to the knife in my hands, chuckling.

Deja Vu, huh?

It's been over a year, and here I was, right back to where I started... alone in the woods and on the run. If it hadn't been for me just being with Beth and Daryl a few hours ago, I would've thought it was all a dream, finding Rick's group, the farm, the several months on the road, the prison... Daryl.

I felt tears prick my eyes at the thought of him, knowing he's not here right now and that's on me. I was the one that told them to go. Sure we could've handled that group somehow, but Beth is injured and I couldn't risk either of them dying if they could make it out.

I wiped the tears away as I heard a growl, glancing around the corner to only see two. I decided to let them pass before checking my surroundings once more. After a few minutes, I saw the coast was clear and made my way back to one of the windows. Taking my shirt off, not ideal but gotta work with what you got, I wrapped it around my fist, punching the glass until it shattered.

Not wasting a second, I unwrapped the shirt, laid it on the windowsill and climbed in, wincing as I checked the room for any Walkers. I quickly threw my shirt back on and closed the door to the room, going for the bookshelf and sliding it in front of the window. Once I did that, I slid to the ground, exhausted.

Listening to the silence, it was safe to assume there wasn't a Walker anywhere in the cabin or else it would be banging on the door by now. I took this time to relax my muscles, letting myself rest.

I let out a sigh as I tried to think of my next move. I have no idea where Beth and Daryl are, nor anyone else that might be alive. For now, I'm all on my own.

...

"Oh my god..." I gasped out in horror, watching as Atlanta was being bombed. "What about the refuge center? Where do we go now?"

"(Y/N), listen to me, okay?" I never broke my gaze away from the city. "It'll be fine, we will find somewhere to go. Our dad's will."

I glanced over to (F/N), nodding as I wiped a tear. "Yeah, okay."

"Come on, get back in the car-" My father was cut off by screaming, as we glanced ahead of us, seeing several people running and getting out of their cars. Upon further inspection, I could make out several being tackled and eaten, causing me to widen my eyes.

I glanced around at all the panic as I looked towards my dad. "What do we do?!"

"Let's go, head towards the woods!" He told us, pointing towards the direction where there were less people.

"Lori, Carl, get in the car we gotta go!"

"Someone! Help me!"

"No, Danny!"

"MOM!"

I tuned out the screams as we continued running, avoiding as many people and cars as we could. Making it into the woods, we kept running and didn't look back, carrying all we had on us and hoping it was enough until we could find shelter.

...

After a few days in the woods, we met a few others that had a camp in the woods, joining with them. It was just a small group of about 12 or so, mostly men, which was good for us. They, along with (F/N) and I's fathers, went scavenging or hunting for meals and worked for a while.
