It was now morning, and all of us were gathered in the room Bob was in, saying our goodbyes while we still could.
"Rick..." Bob called out as Rick went to hand Judith over to Carl. "No, don't." He told Rick as Sasha went to sit on the bed with him. "Let her stay, I trust her."
Sasha got back up walking over to the door where Carl and I stood. "I'm right outside."
Taking that as our cue, we made our way out the door. "Are you gonna be okay?" I turned to Sasha who looked worn out. She couldn't even answer the question, which was all the response I needed. "I see... Well, I'm here if you need anything." I told her as I walked off, knowing she needed time to process what's happening.
I made my way over to where Glenn and Maggie were, preparing for the trip they were about to go on. "Can't believe you two are going."
"Hey, it won't be long before you guys catch up with us." Maggie assured me, grabbing a bag to go put in the bus they were taking.
"I know..." I sighed. "But it feels weird, ya know?" I asked the two. "I hate how the group keeps getting split up. I mean, who else am I supposed to compete with and annoy?" I fake pouted, causing Maggie to laugh.
Glenn let out an annoyed groan. "That's what you're worried about? Not about us possibly dying?"
I let out a chuckle. "Nope. Besides, you two survived this long already, I know you'll be fine."
Sasha came out sobbing, alerting all of us that Bob had died. I frowned as Tyreese walked out the room, knowing it was done.
A few minutes later, Abraham reluctantly came forward and announced it was time they hit the road. All of us filed outside, preparing to say our goodbyes, or farewells, until we could catch up.
"This is our route to DC. We'll stick to it as long as we're able. If not, you got our destination." Abraham handed Rick a map. "Once Eugene gets to the big brains left up there, thing's gonna bounce back. This group should be there for it. You should be there for it."
"They will be." Maggie replied.
Michonne nodded along. "We will."
Rick looked back at us, smiling. "We will."
Abraham gave Rick a nod, turning and walking to the bus. "Let's go."
As they all got on the bus, the rest of us convened at the stairs of the church, waving them off. Though our group's been split up multiple times over this past year, it felt foreign to all of us that we were splitting up as part of a plan and not by any danger.
I sat down on the stairs as they began driving off, letting out a sigh. "What a day..." I sighed as Tyreese went to dig the grave for Bob, Rick walking over to him to help.
"You coming inside, (Y/N)?" I glanced over my shoulder to Carl, who held Judith in his arms.
I nodded my head. "Yeah, I'll be there in a minute. Just gonna sit out here for a few minutes."
I sat outside until it got dark, Michonne coming out. "Go rest, I'll take watch."
I blinked out of my thoughts, coming back to reality as I looked over at her. "How long was I out here?"
"A few hours." She replied, sitting down on the steps next to me. "Wanna tell me what's on your mind?"
I let out a sigh, glancing in front of us. "Just of everyone we lost... people I've lost since the beginning."
She let out a hum in reply. "I think of them all the time."
I looked over at her, knowingly. "Like Andrea?"
