Green Garden Cafe. Tuesday night now. The five of us. And that smartass, stranger, or whatever you wanna call her by. Yes, yes. It's Aruna.

The more frequent she is around, the quicker my pretentiousness grows towards her. Fortunately, I am not the only person to spot her disturbing presence. Iqbal is now taking side with me. He thinks that Mazmur seems to keep a distance from the rest of us in lieu of his precious time spent together with Aruna. This has, somehow, made him a silent guy in our group lately, not to mention his introverted nature.

"Guess what!" Sonya sighed. "I just realized that we have two possible candidates for the English debate competition with us."

"Don't remind me of it. I'm nowhere smarter than Aruna. She will be chosen, I'm really sure," I assured her. To make an impression to everyone that I wasn't that eager to participate.

"Second that," replied Mazmur. He locked eyes with Aruna, who was then shaking her head, rejecting being complimented on. If this was a boxing arena, I would be ready to charge and punch both of them in the face.

"When will the selection be, anyway?" asked Sonya.

"Next Thursday, if I'm not mistaken," answered Aruna. "Hey, just don't overestimate me. Desiree is far much better at debating. If I could vote, I will cut the ballot for her."

"So will I." A familiar voice attracted our attention. It was Iqbal. "No offense, Aruna, but I'd rather support Desiree if one of you should be chosen. Still, I hope you two can take part in the debate team."

A growing tension began to be apparent among us. Never in my imagination had I believed that a person like Iqbal could be that loud. Iqbal's agenda is clear; he wants his bestie come back to us. Mine is a bit blurred but for sure, I need to prove that I can be better than her. No mission is impossible.
