You think I would be glad sitting next to that moron? She was such a plague, appearing unexpectedly in places and at times I never anticipated for. If it hadn't been because Mom who insisted me on approaching her for the sake of social politeness, I wouldn't have given a f***.

"Hi, Aruna! What a surprise seeing you here. A coincidence, eh?"

She replied with casualty. And I felt dizzy already to hear her voice. Mom, insensitive to my uncomfortable gestures, left me alone with her to order something to drink.

"Is that your mother, Desiree?"

"Uh-huh."

"It never came to my mind that your mother is that amiable."

Shot. It's a personal attack. What did she mean? Like it's impossible for me to have a graceful mother? Like I didn't resemble her?

"Yes, sure. She's really lovable. And you're coming here with..."

"By myself."

"Alone? Nobody is willing to accompany you? Oh, Dear. You should've told me that you need a friend and that you don't have any to be with."

I was tempted to laugh, but I tried so hard not to. HAHAHA.
