Don't ever listen to those sarcastic mouths telling that my winning in the debate competition, along with Retno and Andika, was due to Aruna's mercy. Even if she didn't give her place in the team to me, would she make it? I mean, with her blablablaphobia; I don't care its correct term? She wouldn't.
But things surely got better. Now people could see how unwise it was to put her in particular responsibility, for she would turn it down. The lecturers, especially, would now have me as the student who can be relied on when there were things to do, such as welcoming guests from other universities or another debate competition.
Yes. Things got better. Except one thing. Her more frequent presence with Mazmur around had irritated Iqbal and me although for different reasons. Ask Iqbal how he had felt lately about Mazmur and he would make you seated and listen to a streaming flow of disappointment and anger. He meant it. Despite his calm nature, he could be so bold, you know. He really valued friendship. And that's why he called for a meeting with me, Sonya, Jeff, and of course, Mazmur to talk about this matter.
How was the meeting? I'll tell you later. Right now a group of seniors need me to share my experience in joining the debate competition. Cannot be disturbed. Sorry. Get back to you, soon, after this.
