A few months went by and I hadn't talked to him, it was killing me but I just couldn't call him. Jamie would text me and tell me Hunter looked lost but I just couldn't bring myself to it. I had thrown away all of the things that reminded me of Jason and everything.
I just wanted my best friend back but nothing was going to change if I didn't grow up and go talk to him. I had gotten a new job, one that I actually enjoyed. I was a photographer for a studio in the mall. I would see Hunter walk by occasionally but wouldn't go talk to him, he'd see me too but just kept walking.
One day as I was walking home from work, I walked being it was right down the street. Someone grabbed me when I was walking past an old abandoned house. I tried to scream but they were quick to covering my mouth. I had an idea of who it was and when we got into the abandoned house I knew I was right, it was Jason.
He didn't say a word, he just began hitting me left and right. I could feel the bruises beginning to form and the blood oozing out of my body. After about thirty minutes of him hitting me and him raping me once again, he left me there curled up on the floor bloody and bruised.
I knew I had to get out of there and try to get help so I pulled myself up and began walking but I didn't get very far as soon as I got out of the house I passed out.
Beep..Beep..Beep..
That was all I heard, I was in so much pain at the moment it seemed unbearable. I slowly opened my eyes and seen Jamie, Mom and Hunter there all looking worried. Then I realized I was in a hospital bed.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Someone beat you up and left you for dead earlier this week." Mom spoke first.
"You already know who did it." Jamie said.
Then the tears began, I drug them into my drama filled life again. They shouldn't have to worry about me like this all the time. Wait...why is Hunter here? We haven't talked to each other in months.
Jamie and Mom walked out to go smoke and it left Hunter and I. When I looked over at him I noticed he had a black eye.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
"I told you I was there for you no matter what didn't I? I have been by your side since the day they brung you in here. Jamie called me and told me at work and I rushed over. Do you think just because we haven't talked would mean I would just forget about you?"
"Your eye." I began.
"Oh, that's nothing. I found that little prick and made him pay, let's just say he's in worse shape than you. My eye is nothing to worry about." Hunter told me.
He got up and walked to the side of the hospital bed, he leaned down and hugged me as tight as he could, careful not to hurt me.
"I'm sorry for leaving the way I did. You didn't deserve that and I regret leaving you..." He began.
As he talked that day Jason attacked me came back to me, he hit me constantly then he raped me again. Tears began falling down my face as Hunter hugged me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"The day just came back to me, I remember it like it just happened today. I feel so dirty, so used...I.." I began.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I remember him hitting me and raping me..." I cried.
I held onto his flannel shirt he had on and cried. He rubbed my back as I cried into his shirt.
"Don't worry about him, he'll pay for what he did to you. I won't tell anyone he raped you again, it'll be our secret if you want it to be. I will never leave again, ever." He told me.
