Y/N was met with the familiar scent of being in the hospital. She navigates easily to her mother's room. After knocking twice, she pushed open the door. Y/N froze in her steps when she saw her mother had an unknown visitor. "Y/N! Sweetheart, come here." Jiae held her arms up like how she usually would when Y/N visits her. Y/N decided to ignore the man and accepted her mother's hug.

"I'll go and grab a drink. I'll be back." Y/N watched the man speak to her mother before patting the older's woman hand twice. "Excuse me," Y/N sent a small smile when he said those two words to her and left. "Who is that?" The daughter asked after taking a seat where the man was. She cringed at how warm it felt which meant he was here long before she arrived.

"I've been meaning to tell you." Jiao got serious. Y/N rose an eyebrow at the sudden tension. "Tell me what? You have a boyfriend who is younger than you?" Jiae gasped and nudge her daughter. "That's nonsense." Y/N stopped her laughs so she could hear who that man was and if he would be around. "His name is Park Doyun. He's your half-brother." Y/N was stunned. "I'm sorry. What did you just say?" Jiae just nodded, sadly. "When were you planning on telling me?" Y/N asked. "He contacted me recently when you were away in Thailand," Jiae answered. The daughter checked the door before asking if her father knew. Jiae shook her head.

"So, me and him have the same mother but different fathers?" Jiao nodded to confirm Y/N's words. "Who is his father? One of appa's friends?" Jiae told that it was a one-night stand that went wrong. "I left him when he was younger. He wanted to know where I was since his father died of a heart attack a few months ago." Jiae finished that sentence right after the door swing opened.

"Noona," He spoke to Y/N. "I didn't know what types of drinks you like so I got you an iced coffee." He passed to Y/N. "Do you not like coffee? I can have these two and buy you a drink you like." Y/N held her hand out to stop him from going anywhere before grabbing the drink. "I like coffee. Thanks." Doyun checked the time and realised he needed to get back to work soon. "Y/N can send you. She can drive." The children glanced at one another before looking at their mother. "It's up to you," Doyun told Y/N. "How far is your work? I do have somewhere to be after this." Doyun told her the address. "It's like a 10-minute walk but I took the bus here since it's been hot these days." Jiae gave her daughter a hopeful smile. "I can drive you there." Y/N had to do it. She's only doing it for her mother.

Doyun said that he would wait outside. He bid goodbyes to his mother and left. Jiae took both of Y/N's hands and caressed them. "I am not asking you to immediately take him in as your brother. Make him feel welcome. He lost his father. Both of your mothers look like this." Jiae gestured to herself. "I don't know the man but I am only doing this for you." Y/N stood and gave her mother a side hug.

"Nice van you have there." Doyun complimented once Y/N stopped in front of her van and unlock it. "Where should I sit?" Y/N shrugged, "You can take the front seat. I'm okay with it." They got in and drove off. "Type in your address." Y/N passed her phone so the man could types in the address to his workplace. "Oh, you got... a call," Doyun mumbled and hesitantly gave the phone back. Y/N cleared her throat when she noticed the called name. Based on his reaction, she was assuming he has a lot of questions.

"Hey," Y/N greeted.

"Hey, are you on your way here?" Jennie asked.

"Not yet. What's wrong?" Y/N noticed the sad tone.

"I think I might need to postpone our date."

"What? Are you alright?" Y/N asked.

"I've been having cramps all morning. I don't want to ruin our date later." Jennie apologised.
