"Are you alright?" Yeri nudged Y/N who was staring into space. "Huh? Are there customers?!" Y/N shook her head and her eyes went to the door where no one was there. "I ask if you were alright. You're daydreaming a lot today." The younger commented. "What? Ex-girlfriend problems?" Yeri joked and Y/N gave her a look. "Excuse me?" Y/N has known Yeri for quite some time but has never revealed who she has dated.
"It's a joke. Sorry." Yeri quickly apologized after realising that Y/N wasn't playing around. "I'm fine, Yeri." Y/N gave a fake smile. Both girls were closing the cafe that night. After serving some takeaway drinks for their last customers, Y/N changed the neon sign from 'open' to 'closed'. Yeri got to vacuuming the floor after wiping the tables while Y/N cleaned the countertop and started counting today's earnings. They finished up quickly and locked the cafe. "She's here." Y/N looked up and saw a car heading their way. The driver's window rolled down and appeared a smiling-looking Wendy. "Thank you for waiting with her," Y/N told her it was no problem and helped Yeri into the car. She watched the car drive away before getting into hers. Y/N was driving silently while listening to soft music in the background when it got stopped by an incoming phone call. "Why is she calling?" Y/N whispered. She checked the time before answering.
"Hey, eonnie. Are you on your back from work?"
"Yeah, I am. What's wrong, Soyeon?"
"She misses you very much. She's waiting for you."
Y/N frowned, "What are you talking about?"
Soyeon laughed, "No need to be secretive anymore. I know you have bought many amazing gifts for her. Have fun."
The call ended and that left Y/N even more confused. She checked on the date and time since she hoped that could give her an idea.
12:08 am. 15-Feb-21
It didn't help. For the rest of the drive, Y/N was still thinking about what it could mean. Was there someone waiting for her back at her home? Was Y/N supposed to buy gifts for someone?
"Here we go." Y/N unlocked her door and peeked inside. Pitch black. That's normal. She locked the door before taking her shoes off. Y/N flipped the main switch on and finally saw who was waiting for her. "Did you have fun waiting in the dark?" Y/N asked after placing her bag on the dining table. "I switched the lights off when I saw your van pulling in. Sure, it was fun." Miyeon got up from the sofa and head towards Y/N who was leaning on the dining table.
"Hey, gorgeous." The younger girl greeted.
"Hello to you too." Y/N pulled her into a much-needed hug. They spun around a few times before Y/N landed on the sofa. Miyeon stayed on the older's lap as she gave a seductive smile. "Wait!" She placed her pointed finger onto Y/N's lips who wanted a kiss. "I miss your kisses too but why did you look confused?" Y/N playfully bit her girlfriend's finger which then earned a slap on her shoulder. "Answer me, baby then I'll kiss you." Y/N stopped playing around and spoke, "It's not the first time where I'll come home and you're here without telling me. I was confused about why you're here at this time but I am not complaining." Y/N ended that with an awkward chuckle but she missed Miyeon's sad expression.
"Before we continue with all of this, I have something to confess. It's been bothering me all day at work today. I need to tell you or else it won't feel fair to both of us." Miyeon had the idea that her girlfriend wasn't remembering their tradition that falls on February 15 but she kept quiet and lend a listening ear to what Y/N wanted to say. "As you know, I've begun hanging with my cousin and two of my past colleagues again. It's been awesome. I miss them more than I can admit." Miyeon nodded along. "It did cross my mind about possibly seeing them again but I never thought it would happen so soon. I didn't ask for it but it happened." Miyeon removed her hands from holding both of Y/N's hands who didn't seem to notice. "And by them, did you mean your ex-girlfriends?"
