"Why are you smiling so hard?" Y/N asked after taking a sip of her coffee. "I'm happy knowing my plan worked." Jihyo giggled. "Well, thank you." Y/N gave a playful nudge to the younger girl's shoulder. "I think it's a good thing I'm letting her back into my life." Jihyo nodded along. "You think it's a good thing?" Y/N shrugged. "I hope so. Miyeon supports it too. I don't want to be wrong again."
The cafe was shut down by Y/N for the day. Jihyo met her there and stayed with her all day. While Y/N worked in the cafe, she worked on her laptop while seated at a corner booth. Jihyo was sent home, and then Y/N went grocery shopping and returned home. Before sitting down at the table, she obtained the cutlery and retrieved a cold beverage from the refrigerator.
Y/N stared at her girlfriend's contact name and muttered, "I guess it was one of the days." On some particular days, Miyeon was preoccupied with her life as an idol and won't text or call Y/N at all. Y/N was mindful of the possibility. Y/N could text, but the response wouldn't come until the following day. When she was with the four girls, it was a different story, but Y/N eventually grew used to it.
She knew their schedule so that was an advantage but still when Y/N had her off days and the girl group did not, they were still texting or calling.
"What the hell is wrong with me?!" Y/N slapped her forehead as she sobbed into her palms. "Really? Am I comparing them now? Why are you acting this way?" Y/N focused on her food instead of her thoughts as she watched a movie on her phone. Before going to bed, she cleaned herself and the kitchen.
"Are you okay, eonnie?" Dahyun asked after finding Y/N zoning out. The older girl smiled and told her that she was fine. Y/N said her goodbyes to her colleagues since her morning shift has ended and headed out with Dahyun. "Tzuyu said they are waiting in front of Mcdonalds." Dahyun read the text from her girlfriend. Y/N held the younger's hand as they made their way around the mall to find the fast food place. "Oh! There they are!" Y/N spotted them. Dahyun waved her hands and caught their attention.
"Y/N eonnie!" Chaeyoung jumped into the oldest's arms. Y/N giggled and twirl them around. She placed her down so Chaeyoung could talk to Dahyun next and moved on to Mina. "How are you, my lady?" Mina rolled her eyes at Y/N's words but accepted her hug. "How was the flight?" Y/N asked since the couple flew in from Japan and arrived last night. "Good as always," Mina told.
Mina and Chaeyoung would still fly to Korea from time to time to hang out with their past roommates and catch up with Chaeyoung's family. "You know the both of you can crash at my place instead of a hotel? My bed can hold up the three of us." Y/N suggested. "We wouldn't want to disturb you and Miyeon," Mina answered. "How is she by the way?" Y/N gave a small smile and nodded. "She's good." Mina rose an eyebrow at the oldest's subtle facial expressions. "Alright," Y/N knew Mina could read her well so she took her attention to the younger girls. "I am starving. Let's eat at Mcdonald's." Y/N pointed. "Are you treating us? Let's go." Tzuyu ran to give Y/N no time to answer her. "Fine." Y/N gave in.
It was close to 8 pm when the girls arrived back at Y/N's place. Y/N took out the plates to serve the food they bought for dinner. "Are you and Miyeon okay?" Mina took this opportunity to ask since they were alone in the kitchen and the younger girls were in the living room. "I don't want to talk about it." Y/N shook her head. She got the things and headed back into the living room, leaving behind Mina. A few hours later, Y/N was alone after the girls left. She cleaned up a little before taking a shower and got ready for bed.
"Do you need it right now?" Y/N turned to Nayeon who was talking on her phone. "Alright, I... I will drive back and give it to you. Meet you outside, okay?" The older cousin seemed stressed after she ended the call. "What's wrong?" Y/N asked as she watched Nayeon stop the van at a red light and turned to the back to retrieve a YSL bag. "I had to drop the girls off before picking you up. After dropping them off, I noticed one of them left behind this bag." Y/N took notice of the brand and knew who it belonged to. "I called her before and she said it was okay and she can take it back when I pick them up tonight." Y/N already knew where this conversation was leading to. "She called because she needs it right now?" Nayeon forced a nod. "Fine. Whatever. Make it quick." Y/N shrugged and laid back in her seat.
"Oh! There she is." Y/N looked up from her phone. She quickly lowered herself before realising that people on the outside can't see inside the van because of the tinted windows. Rosé began walking over which made the cousins panic. Nayeon quickly hopped off with the owner's bag in her hand. Y/N relaxed a little and waited. "Thank you so much, eonnie. I'm sorry for taking up your free time." Rosé apologised and took her bag back. "It's okay, Chae. Do you or the girls need anything else before I go? I will pick the four of you tonight..." Nayeon talked away with her eyes on the phone to confirm the schedule with Rosé but the younger girl's attention was somewhere else.
"Chae, what's wrong?" Nayeon placed a comforting touch on the main vocalist's shoulder to bring her attention back to this conversation. "Maybe it's the light from the sun but," Rosé shielded the sun from her eyes and squinted. "Is there someone in the van with you? I swear it feels like I am staring into someone's eyes right now." Nayeon glanced over to her van and knew Y/N would hate what was happening right now. She cleared her throat before playfully nudging Rosé, "Why would you say that? I am driving all by myself."
"I'm sorry." Rosé laughed and focused back on Nayeon. "See you tonight, eonnie." Nayeon watched the main vocalist walk back into the building before getting back into her van. "Are you okay?" Nayeon asked since Y/N was quiet. "Why are you asking me that?" Y/N turned to her. "You saw her? You saw her with your eyes." Y/N shrugged. She folded her arms and leaned her head on the window. "I saw her. We made a few eye contacts, but she doesn't know that." Nayeon asked again and was snapped back by Y/N with a firm two words answer. "I'm fine."
The driver glanced one more time at Y/N who has her right hand over her chest where her heart was located. "i guess she's calming her beating heart down." The ride was quiet to the place they were supposed to be in the first place.
It was close to midnight when Y/N returned home from her day out with Nayeon. The situation got better after a while. Y/N realized that it was not Nayeon's fault. She was doing her job anyway. She was in her place once. Y/N grabbed a drink from her fridge after tossing her bag onto the living room coffee table.
"Hey? Oh? Did I wake you up?" Y/N greeted her once the call was accepted.
"No. I'm still awake but I do have a sleeping girl in my arms." Soojin panned her phone down to show Shuhua cuddled up to her.
"Is my girlfriend there?"
"Yeah, she should be in her bedroom. I think she's already asleep. I think she slept first out of all of us." Soojin revealed. "Why are you asking?"
"I miss her."
Soojin frowned. "Text her? Call her? Like you're doing right now with me?"
"Okay, I am not dumb. I know what I can do but Miyeon and I have this agreement that if a comeback is happening soon, I shall not disturb her. She needs to focus."
Soojin laughed, "That's dumb. I respect what both of you are doing but at the end of the day, I say fuck the agreement and talk to her because you miss your girlfriend."
"Does she miss me?"
Soojin pursed her lips as she was trying not to ruin the surprise Miyeon was planning which leads to Miyeon not communicating with Y/N.
"She misses you. I can promise you that, but, you two will be able to see each other soon."
Y/N watched as Soojin's eyes left the screen and down onto the sleeping Taiwanese.
"I'm talking to Y/N eonnie," Soojin whispered. "Get some sleep, alright?"
"I will. Goodnight."
The girls bid goodbyes and ended the call. Y/N placed her phone aside and buried her face in her hands. She knew what she would be getting once Miyeon would be extra busy. She has gone through this before but why does it feel so different this time?
Y/N was hoping it didn't have anything to do with the near encounters with Jisoo and Rosé.
What's next? Lisa?
Jennie?
God, please, no.
