Escape the ordinary
- shihori obata.

As the sun rose up, autumn kissed the summer with it softest kisses, I never really liked summer it reminded me of hopeless romantic novels, where the guy and the girl magically meets at a beach or so help me God the warm summer shines on her tan sun kissed skin, I don't know how people read this, they feed themselves with fantasies of some flawless love, some fantasy just to escape from the ordinary life they live, love was always a myth to me and I plan to keep it that way.

Looking outside my window, I feel like the world moved on but yet am still stuck relieving the same moment everyday,I guess Shakespeare was right when he said.....

Time is very slow for those who wait
Very fast for those are scared
Very long for those who lament
Very short for those who celebrate
But...those who love time is......
Eternal.

Well in my case time seems longer than it's supposed to be in this hard, harsh , wicked world, my aunt once told me in a world like this only those who fight survive.

A knock at my bedroom interrupts my thoughts, turning towards the door to watch the knob twist and turn aggressively, I walk slowly cautious of who this could be, opening the door to find my mother looking towards me with a questioning look,

Mother, you're back I said trying to add a bit of excitement in my tone

Roselle Mary Charles she said quite condensing

She does this when she's tries to caution me for something but this time I have no Idea what I did or done.

Yes mother, did you need something?,

Not quite, am here to announce your wedding proposal to dauphin of Versailles

But....I tried to protest that I wasn't ready to accept such proposal to Marry someone I don't know, yes I might not believe in love but I would at least want a choice

No buts it's final, they are requesting an alliance which will build your families legacy I suggest you follow what you are told and u will be just fine.

Yes mother I said with a nod as I retrieve from the door to my bed

Perfect with that said she turned around and left with a slight bang at the door.

Again here I am alone, with no hope but to follow some ancient rules, I never asked for this , if I had another life I would choose a better life, A life of a royal is lonely, tiring, exhausting mostly full of challenges.

The morning breeze blows through the open blinds,

M'lady your bath is ready my personal maid reminds me for the fifth time, right now I would do anything to stop the wedding, this so called alliance but alas in vain.

Alright Charlotte I motioned her to leave

I get off my bed and head straight to start a day of excitement and joy.

M'lady you look marvelous my personal maid Charlotte gushes out

The color green brings out your eyes, the prince would fall head over heels in love at the site of you m'lady Charlotte says with every ounce of excitement emitting from her words,

Am not borthered if the prince fancies me or not, actually I want the opposite so I could rid my self if such acts , marriage, alliance, maybe if I stake myself to death I would finally be free of such lonely, sad life, if only.

M'lady we are here Charlotte informs

Standing before me was the large wooden door of the dinning hall,

Good day m'lady Charlotte takes her leave

Wait! I called out to her

Yes m'lady turning back to look at me quite confused

Would you marry the prince? I asked In hope since it's a queen they want they shall get one but it shan't be me, besides Charlotte is more like family to me than a royal house maid,

I....I m'lady I cannot she said still in utter shock by my request

And why can't you? of course I know she can't why am I asking, it clearly goes against the rules of our kingdom, well of any kingdom, it would be as said utter aversion odious, defilement and much more, and a long royal speech on how it defies some Prudential rules.

You may go Charlotte I said with a warm smile assuring her she need not worry

Alright m'lady she again takes her leave

George! I called my mother's personal guard,

Where is the Queen? I ask

Her majesty is in the royal dining hall having her breakfast he replies then takes his leave not before letting me in the hall

The hall was decorated and filled with gifts splattered all over the large dinning table, we were surrounded by guards and maids running round the hall with gifts.

Mother, what's the occasion? I asked confused as to why we have so many gifts in the dining hall

Don't be so clueless, they are for you she said excitement booming on her face

For me? Why? This was rather surprising to me

Oh! my dear child have you forgotten so fast about your engagement, you should be excited, soon to be queen, you would make a perfect queen

Oh that....are we really still going I said lightly cutting the edge of my bread

Yes my dear child, you look marvelous, beautiful just like your own mother, you did take after me, only except you took you father's love for reading, poetry I never understood why he loved them at all, well I never actually knew him, he was the king always busy and I was the queen, entitled to bring an heir to life.

Well mother I think it's time I said if I was  getting married I might at least get there early right? mother I said putting down my table knife to wipe off remains of any food stain with the table napkin.

Of course, George! Get the carriage ready

Yes your highness he replies with a bow then proceeds to the court yard

Come my dear your future awaits she says stretching her hands looking towards me

Placing my hand on hers as I exhale a breath I didn't know I was holding, together we walk to the courtyard where my destiny now lies within.
