Chapter 13

Sai constantly bothered Naruto for a chance to hang out, and not just as friends. Naruto made up excuses and walked away from most of the conversations, but it was starting to freak him out how much Sai knew about him. It was pretty insane.

Sasuke didn't know what to do about the new pest that was bothering Naruto. He wasn't sure if he wanted to confront him or just let Naruto handle it. From the looks of it, Naruto couldn't handle it; he could only run away.

One Friday in the midst of spring, the cherry blossom trees were starting to bloom. The streets were more crowded than usual because of all the tourists that came to see the blossoming trees.

At school, Naruto was talking to Shikamaru and Sakura about Sai and his antics.

"It is really creepy," Naruto said.

"Well, he is cute," Sakura replied.

"But he is a stalker and is obsessed with Naruto," Shikamaru said.

"Just ignore him then," Sakura said.

"You should tell an adult or something," Shikamaru suggested.

Naruto sighed and laid his head down on his desk. He wasn't really sure what to do about him. Shikamaru and Sakura were both drawn away, leaving Naruto to his own devices. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sasuke enter the room, followed by a train of girls bothering him. He must have had plenty of stalkers; he would know how to deal with them.

"Hey Sasuke! Naruto waved him over.

"Yes?" Sasuke replied, walking over to him.

"I have a question for you."

"Shoot."

"There is this guy from another class who has been stalking me and constantly asking to go out with me, and I don't know what to do about him because it is getting really weird and creepy," Naruto blurted.

Well, I have dealt with my fair share of stalkers, but really all you have to do is tell an adult—a teacher, the principal, the police—someone with authority who can help you," Sasuke said simply.

"I don't know if I want to rat him out; I feel bad," Naruto said nervously.

"You feel bad telling someone about the person that is stalking you and won't leave you alone? Sasuke questioned.

Naruto bit his lip and sighed," Fine, I'll tell someone."

"Good for you," Sasuke said, trying not to sound sarcastic.

Naruto smiled at him, thanked him for the help, and waddled out of the classroom to the teacher's office to go discuss it.

Sasuke felt relieved that Naruto trusted him enough to tell him that someone was bothering him and he wanted help. Sasuke felt that he had finally earned that level of trust with Naruto, but he was still itching to be more than friends with him.

The bell rang a while later, and school began.
