Mera was about to go back to the Slytherin Common room after another day of trying to avoid causing any more attention to herself and the Great Hall, when she was suddenly pulled to the side by Merula.
Mera: What in- Merula, what are you-
Merula: Listen, it's plainly clear that you don't want to be popular and want to stay on the sidelines. What if I can make that grow popularity of yours stop growing?
Mera: . . . Go on before I change my mind.
Merula: You see I am looking for the vaults-
Mera: Are you insane!?-
Merula: Shush. And even though a witch as powerful as me, I am offering you a chance on becoming more like as a sidekick so people will see you as average as possible, while you secretly teach me the most powerful spells you know.
Mera: Alright, first of all, how exactly would you explain to people about why you aren't trying to bully me anymore? And why would I trust you with my spells?
Merula: We can say that I wanted to be a good person or whatever, and that I asked you to help me. And it's either this or your newly formed popularity continues to grow.
Mera thinks for awhile, and decided to play along with Merula as she also had a few ideas of her own of how this agreement can fit in with her own plans for herself after she finish her years of Hogwarts.
Mera: Alright, I'll agree to your offer, under four conditions.
Merula: ( groans ) What?
Mera: Number one, you have to apologize to Ben, number two you have to stop bullying, number three you have to work up my trust to learn a new spell from me, and number four.... You have to let me fix the owl nest of what you call hair.
Merula mentally groans, before she took a deep breath.
Merula: Fine! But, why the last part exactly?
Mera: Because your hairstyle is almost as bad as my brother's old haircut before his military haircut.
Merula: ( scoffs ) Whatever, let's just go. And remember, act like we made up.
Mera: Same goes for you, Owl nest. And how exactly are we going to show that we made up?
Merula gave Mera a mischievous smile.
Mera: I already regret asking that.
( Meanwhile with Rowan, at the Slytherin Common room )
Rowan was waiting for Mera to come to the Common room to comfort her, but her eyes widened when she saw Merula and Mera walk in the common room together, Merula had hooked her arm to Mera's, who had a blank expression on her face, not showing any reaction to what Merula was doing.
Rowan: Mera! What is this!? ( Gestures to her and Merula ) First, Merula wanted to check up on you even though you two were just at each other's throats, and now this. Maybe I am going crazy....
Mera: ( calmly: ) Rowan, no. You're not going crazy, me and Merula just... ( Pulls her arm away from Merula ) had a discussion about our, mostly her actions, and decided to put aside our differences, and she asked me to help her... what's the saying...? Turn over a new thief?
Rowan: It's " Turn over a new leaf ". And you believed her and trust her word?
Mera: ( blankly and honestly: ) Trust me, I believe she is going mental, but if she's serious she's going to prove that I can trust her word and she promised to stop bullying and apologize to Ben Copper. As well as she agreed to let me fix her hair.
Rowan: ( still not trusting Merula ) Okay- Wait, why was her hair in the agreement?
Mera: Because she clearly doesn't know how to do it herself. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go to my dorm to get a hairbrush. I'll be back.
Mera then left to go to her dorm room. Rowan gave Merula a stern look.
Rowan: I know you're up to something. Mera doesn't trust someone that easily, so don't think it's easy to use her.
Merula: ( scoffs ) And I would care about if you believe me or not?
Rowan: Because, if you do anything to hurt Mera, I will find a way to make you regret it. As her first friend, it's my job to make sure she's okay.
Merula: Wha- ah!
Rowan was confused until she saw that Mera was behind Merula with a hairbrush in her hand.
Mera: Hold still, and this will be over with as so as possible.
Merula: You could've given me a warning.
Mera: I don't trust you enough, to give you any kind of warning.
