Chapter 30
I get a text message today from my friend Christy. I haven't seen her for months ever since my town burned down and this whole accident overcame my life.
Text Message:
I miss you so much, Shally! Josh texted me where you are. I live in California now. I'm coming to visit you.
End Of text message.
I quickly texted her Ross' address and she said she would be over as quickly as possible. I just hope Ross and her get along. She's not so much of the friendly type who opens up and spills her whole life on you the second that you meet her. She's more reserved. You know, she takes her steps carefully of who she can trust. Sometimes I wish I was more like Christy. Once you get to know her, you discover all these hidden traits about her that you never knew before.
I literally almost stumbled to my feet when the door bell rang. "Dude, chill!" Goes Ross, smiling at me. I give her a flirty eye role and walk up
To the door. When I open it, Christy waits outside with a huge smile on her face. She pulls me into a hug. "AHH! I missed you so much!" She tells me. "I missed you too!" "What have you been up to? Josh tells me that your living with your boyfriend? I thought you weren't into guys like that?" "Well, yeah. This is my boyfriend Ross' house. I'm staying here since you know, what happened back home." "Ah. So where is he?" "Who? Ross?" "Yeah." "Um, he's down in the basement with his brothers, why?" She doesn't even respond. Just pulls me by my arm down to the basement. "Since when were you so social?" I asks as we trample down the steps. She shrugs, leaving me wondering. Wondering if my friend could change drastically in only a few months. But I quickly snap myself back to reality, letting the thought slip out of my grip. When the guys see us come downstairs they all silently stare for a couple seconds until Riker finally breaks the awkwardness. "Hey, who's this?" He asks me, looking in Christy's direction. He bites his bottom lip almost embarrassed in a way. "Sorry guys, this is my friend Christy. She lives a few blocks away. She just moved here actually," I announce. Christy gives them a wide smile. I notice her teeth no longer have braces of them, they are perfectly strait and white as could be. "Hi! It's so nice to meet ya!" She goes, holding out her hand for no one in particular to shake. Riker and Rocky kind of dive in for it at the same time, but Riker comes out victorious. "H-hi. I'm Riker." "Nice to meet ya Riker! You look real familiar. Do I know you from anywhere?" "Uh, yeah. I play Jeff on glee as a warbler." "Oh, that's right! I kinda had this huge crush on you for a while," she admits, not even turning the slightest bit pink.
It's like she's a whole new person! What happened to the reserved, shy, Christy I once knew?! "Ha.. Really?" Riker asks, blushing. She nods, then looks over at Rocky. "Sup. I'm Rocky. How's it goin'?" He asks, walking over to her. "Hiiii. Nice guitar. You guys have a band, right? R5?" Since when did she know this stuff..? I stand there shyly, feeling quite like a third wheel, so I walk over to Ross who seems to be feeling the same way as I am. He hates it when people talk too much. I can tell it bores him to dead. While Christy chats with the guys, Ross takes me up to his room. "Your friend's such a flirt," he comments when shes out of earshot. "You sure it's not your brothers who were blushing like mad out there?" Ross can't find a better comeback, so he just gives me that look. I love that look.
He pushes my back up against his bedroom door, staring into my eyes. He starts kissing me. I don't hold back..
