Chapter 47

After two hours of waiting and rocking back and fourth on his chair despite Jin's scolding, Jungkook could finally breathe when the doctor came out and asked him to get in the room.

He was a bit nervous but was also more relieved because Doctor Yejin didn't say that Taehyung would die or some shit.

"I asked you to come here because what I'm going to say will be directed to the both of you" she began in a low but serious voice, Jungkook couldn't keep his hands, he reached for Taehyung's. He didn't know if it was to comfort the omega or to ease his own nerves.

"So as you can see here" she pointed at the small green screen . Jungkook didn't understand what was under his eyes but still nodded. "There is a crack within the patient's placenta. Unfortunately, we can't do anything to treat it nor to reattach it again. It can be dangerous for both the baby and the patient's health-"

"What? Dangerous, how?" Jungkook jumped in, he squeezed Taehyung's hands, he could feel his own heart beating so fast inside of his ribs.

"As I was saying, it is dangerous and can have dire consequences, death including" she continued and Taehyung's throat went dry, he didn't know where to put himself, he felt as if he was going to throw up anytime soon. "I'm sorry for being so blunt but I need you two to understand that it's a very serious matter"

"But you said that you can't treat it! Are you saying that they're going to die? Is that it??" Jungkook kicked the chair away and stood on his feet.

He was restless.

"Not always. We may not be able to treat it but we can avoid a placental abruption from happening. To prevent it, bed rest and other precautions are needed. Smoking is not allowed, we also need to monitor the patient closely until the due date" Yejin explained. "What I mean by bed rest is, the patient should stay in bed or rest, most of the time, unless if it's to take a bath or go to the restroom. Still, be sure to be always accompanied and don't go out of the bed often, rest is very needed, physically and emotionally. Stress too should be toned down, I know it's not easy to not think about anything when there's a lot happening around you, but try to be calm, it's better for the baby"

At the end of her monologue, both Jungkook and Taehyung looked at each other.

They were relieved that Taehyung and the baby didn't have to die but it would be a challenge for them. With the Minho's case, they've always been constantly worrying and stressing about everything.

"So, will it be safe of him to stay home?" Jungkook questioned.

"Yes, it is. Kim Seokjin who's working with us can monitor the patient during his stay at home. We will still keep in contact just in case" The doctor said. "Do you have any questions?"

The couple shook their heads in unison.

"Is it really fine to leave the hospital?" Mrs Jeon has been asking that question for three times now.

Taehyung was already discharged from the hospital the next morning.

"Would you think that I'd bring him home if the doctors didn't allow it?" Jungkook asked, sounding a bit annoyed and tired.

He went on the bed with Taehyung, he was supposed to work but told his very understanding boss about the situation so she gave him two days off.

"Who knows. You're stubborn sometimes..."

"I might be stubborn but I'd never endanger his life" the son sharply replied.
