The Performance: Part 2

Narrator's POV

The commercial break was over, and the gang was running out of time. The third was coming up to the stage, and Flynn and Alex just finished Julie's outfit just in time before Dirty Candy could perform.

Flynn: Jules, you look amazing.

Julie: You really think so?

Alex: Julie, if Luke comes through that door, his jaw will hit the floor.

They all chuckled at Alex's joke while Julie walked towards her mirror to look at herself.

Julie: I wish my parents were here.

Flynn: I know me too. But they will be so proud of you.

Julie: I know.

Alex: We should probably get going. We can't let our star performer be late.

Julie: Yeah, let's go.

They walked out of the room and made their way backstage. Julie straightened out her outfit to make sure it looked presentable to perform and took a quick look at the stage. She couldn't wait to perform there. She was about to achieve her dream. She was doing some breathing exercises until she felt a tap on her shoulder. Julie turned around and saw Lillian behind her.

Lillian: My oh my, look at you. You actually look beautiful with this outfit on.

Julie: Gee, thanks.

Lillian: Carrie and Kayla are on their way here, so you better hide before they see you.

Julie: But -

Lillian: Julie, please. I need to concentrate, I have to make up a sappy speech if you or Dirty Candy wins. Finding the right words can be exhausting sometimes.

Julie: *muttered* I know the feeling.

Lillian: What was that?

Julie: Nothing.

Lillian: Oh my God, there's Nick Cannon. I'm gonna try to get his attention. Don't make another sound.

She walked over to where Nick Cannon was, and Julie already felt sorry for him. Suddenly, her phone was vibrating, and once she took it out, she saw a text from Willie saying that Carrie and Kayla were on their way. Julie was internally panicking and decided to hide behind a curtain so that Carrie and Kayla won't see her. The rest of Dirty Candy was getting into position while Carrie and Kayla started talking about Julie.

Carrie: I still can't believe Mom chose Julie over us. She doesn't even like her.

Kayla: Well, it's her loss for siding with the enemy.

Carrie: Once we're famous, we are going to cut mom out of everything she does with Dirty Candy. She's nothing but a traitor.

Kayla: Totally agree. And what about Julie?

Carrie: She could be our maid for all I care. I can't believe her mom gave birth to her. She is such a nuisance.

Kayla: Her mom might think she's a disappointment.
