Better Than Him

Chapter XLIV

Raven's door was opened by Lexa and she walked in slowly. Clarke's heart dropped as Lexa didn't make eye contact with her. She shut the door and leaned her back against the door. She hung her head.

    "What?" Clarke asked, getting up from the bed. "What happened in the meeting?" Lexa rubbed the back of her neck. "Lex?" Clarke cupped Lexa's face and made her look at her. Lexa had a smile on her face. "Oh I'm gonna fucking kill you."

    "The kingdoms are going home!" Clarke and Lexa wrapped each other in a tight hug. Clarke kissed Lexa, deeply as Luna and Raven get off the bed. All four of them hugged each other and jumped up and down.

    They pulled apart. "I would say let's go drinking but I need to cut back on getting drunk." Raven said, smiling. They all laughed.

Clarke pressed a lingering kiss to her cheek. "Let's go find Becca and see what she has to say." Clarke said, taking Lexa's hand. Lexa nodded, excitedly.

With that they ran out of Raven's room, hand in hand. They were both giggling and laughing like little kids. This was a huge step. Abby must be coming around.

Lexa led her to Becca's room.     Lexa knocked on the door and Becca opened it immediately. "I'm guessing you two already know?" Becca said, looking at their smiles. "And because I heard Lexa yell 'Fuck yeah' from outside of the door as the kingdoms were sent home."

Lexa scratched her head. "Yeah, that was my bad." Lexa said, sighing. "I don't regret it though."

Becca let them into her room. Clarke wrapped her arms around Lexa and kissed her cheek. "I'm guessing you aren't here because you missed your mother, but because you wanted to know how the meeting went." Becca joked.

"Both." Lexa said.

"Good answer." Becca said, motioning for them to sit down. They sat down at the table with her. "We explained the situation to them and then voted." Becca explained. "Jake and I voted to send the kingdoms home and Titus voted for them to stay. Abby seemed torn but she did vote to send the kingdoms home after a lot of thought."

Lexa kissed Clarke's head. "And you told me that my charm wasn't gonna work on your mother."

Clarke laughed. "Because she's never swayed by anything." Clarke said.

Becca put her hands up in the hair. "Hold up. You were doing what with Clarke's mother?" Lexa's mind took that as doing sexual actions with Clarke's mother. As Lexa had the humor of a teenage boy, she lost her shit and started to die of laughter. It honestly wasn't even that funny. Clarke shook her head while smiling and Becca just had her head in her hands. "Lexa, you knew what I meant."   

"Also this joke stays dead after this." Clarke said.

"Like the wet joke?" Lexa said as Clarke groaned. Lexa got sent into another fit of laughter.

Becca shook her head. "I don't wanna know." Becca mumbled.

"Let's just leave all of the weird jokes in the past." Clarke said, trying to make Lexa stop laughing. "Listen here, Alexandria, you are more immature than Raven for laughing at the joke." She put her hands on her shoulders trying to get her to relax.

Lexa pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh. "It's not funny at all." Lexa said, hiding a smile. "Not even a little bit funny."

    Clarke took her hands off Lexa. "We had lunch with my parents and Lexa was trying to win my mother over."

    "I was just being nice." Lexa said, shrugging. "Like being on my best behavoir."

    She never admitted it but she was proud of Lexa and her mother. Her mother came around and Lexa was persistent. Neither of them gave up, although Abby was more stubborn.
