*Mature Language, I guess*

She looked at me with sad eyes and opened her mouth to speak. I held up my hand to stop her.

"Please don't ruin it. I forgive you, but I'm still kinda angry."

She gave me a small smile and I put my hand on her arm.

"Can you smile for me? It's an odd request, but I think that it's the least you can do for me."

She smiled, showing all of her straight, white teeth.

I smiled back, "It's nice to know that there are still people that can smile and those who can forgive."

She nodded, "I truly am sorry."

I nodded and turned back to my boyfriend and my "father".

For the rest of the night, we all sat in the living room in different positions, amazingly comfortable.

Carl had gotten somewhat used to the pain in his legs and it wasn't hurting him as much, so he let me sit in his lap. Our mothers sat on the other side of the room, bouncing the babies and watching their other children with a slight grim.

Daryl was sitting on a wooden chair and Beth sat on the floor while Maggie tried to teach him how to braid. Glenn stood over his shoulder laughing as he watched the frustration Daryl as feeling at the small task that he couldn't do.

"Why do you want to learn how to braid anyway?" Rick asked as he laughed at his friend.

He huffed, "I thought that when Little Ass Kicker got older, this whole thing would be over and her mother would be working. I thought that maybe I would have to babysit the little thing and I wanted to be able to do something with her hair when I did."

Rick laughed and then looked at Lori.

She nodded.

"Daryl, I wanted to ask you something."

Daryl looked away from Maggie's fingers that were tangled in Beth's blonde locks.

"Lori and I were talking and we realized that we missed Shane. We missed how he spent so much time at the house, spending time with me, helping Lori, watching Carl..."

Carl shifted under me and I could tell that he felt uncomfortable talking about his father's old best friend. He felt ashamed that he had to shoot him. Nobody blamed him. I never met Shane, but I could tell that he meant a lot to my family and then betrayed them when he tried to kill Rick.

"Shane was Carl's godfather. Then we realized that Judy didn't have any godparents. She needs them. Especially in a life like this, where anyone can die at any time."

Daryl nodded.

"You're my best friend. I know that you would never betray me, even though we haven't known each other for years. Better yet, you're my brother. I know that you would never betray or hurt anyone here intentionally. that's what gives me great honor to ask you if you would give Lori and I to be the godfather of Judith."

Daryl's jaw dropped. He stood up and opened his mouth to speak. I figured that it was from shock, but he opened and closed his mouth like a fish for a few seconds before turning and running out of the room.

I stood and Carl grabbed my wrist. I turned to him and he shook his head. I gave him a small smile and used my other hand to loosen his grip.

I followed Daryl outside where he was sitting under the huge oak tree in the front lawn. The snarl of the walkers was heard, so I reached into my boot and grabbed my knife.

When I looked down the street, I realized that they were all the way on the other end.

I walked over to Daryl and sat beside him. His head was in his knees and he sat perfectly still.

"You alright?" I asked.

His head went back and forth as if to say no.

I sat down beside him, "What's up? Do you not want to be Judith's godfather?"

He lifted his head and looked at me. There were tear tracks running down his face.

"No. It's just that..." he paused and I waited until he was ready to speak.

"I've never had a really family. My father wasn't really a father and my mother disappeared when I was young. All I had was my brother. Merle. He wasn't perfect, but he was family. I loved him. He was all I had. And then I met Rick and his family and I knew that I had found something else that was mine. They're the closest thing I've had to a family."

I grabbed his hand, "Then why did you run?"

I heard what he said even though it was a slight whisper, "I'm scared."

"Of what?"

He turned to me, "I'm scared of losing them. My mother... gone. My father... gone. My brother...gone. I always seem to lose people."

I pulled him into a hug and he tensed up. After a while, he relaxed.

"You don't have to worry about that. We're not going anywhere."

He pulled back and stood up. He extended a hand to me and I grabbed it. He pulled me up.

When we went back inside, Key and Stevan were holding hands and sitting with Carl.

"I do." Daryl said to Rick and Lori, his hand resting on his goddaughter's head.

I walked back to Carl as everyone screamed in joy.

"What did I miss?" I asked as I sat back in Carl's lap.

"My parents asked Beth to be Judy's godmother for protecting her in the sim."

I nodded, but Carl seemed upset.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I disregarded his tone and continued in the joys that everyone else, besides Carl were expressing.

Eventually, everyone became tired and decided to go to bed. My mother and Lori showed me and Carl a room and said that it was ours.

Carl plopped onto the bed and turned the other way so that he wouldn't be looking at me.

I closed the room door and turned to the boy.

"What's your problem?"

He turned to me and glared, "What's my problem? You're asking me what my problem is? I couldn't possibly think. What is my problem?"

I glared back at him, "Yes, Carl. What is your problem. I m glad that we've gotten through that. Would you like me to get a dictionary?"

He scoffed, "I wonder. Could it be the fact that you're still trying to commit suicide?"

I looked at him confused, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"You ran after Daryl without a weapon. After everything that happened and things that were done, you still try to take your life. Have you learned nothing?"

I felt my hands ball into fists, "You ignorant dick! You don't know anything. You act like you didn't try it too. You wanted to kill yourself too.  You tried it."

"Because of you!" he yelled. "You broke up with me because you thought I was cheating on you. Because you don't trust me."

I started screaming too, "Because you were hanging around with her and I had every right. Its not like you seemed to miss me after I broke up with you. You turned right around and shoved your dick up her ass, so don't talk about me trusting you."

"You know what," he said, "Ten minutes with her was better than one year with you."

Oh shit! I didn't expect that.... Jk. uh duh, I wrote it. You guys likey???? Vote and comment☺☺☺
