We talked to Cara for quite a while before we hung up, not without her promising to call me, as soon as she had news.
Chan lured me back into the bed and pulled me into his arms. My head rested at his shoulder, his hand stroked my bare back. Nobody had said something since the phone call had ended.
Outside the door I suddenly heard footsteps of at least two people and Hyunjin whispering.
“Heading for the dancing practice…?” I murmured and Chan grumbled affirmatively. He started drawing signs without meaning onto my back, giving me goosebumps. I felt his steady heartbeat beneath my cheek and sneaked my hand around his waist, scooting closer to him until it seemed every part of our bodies were touching.
I felt him turn his head and kiss the top of my head. Closing my eyes I stretched up a bit and kissed his neck. I felt myself slowly drifting off into a very dark place, if I’d continue racking my brain about Brent. Been there, done that. I needed distraction. Now.
And the best distraction I could think of right now was lying right next to me, squeezing my butt. Pressing kiss after kiss onto the side of his neck I slowly straddled him, letting my hands wander over his body.
He sighed and turned his head to give me better access. I started nibbling on his ear, causing him to moan silently. His hands gently ran up my legs, over my butt and up my back. Every touch felt like a small spark of electricity shooting through my body.
I took his face into my hands and turned it to me, kissing him with desperate intensity. Yes, maybe the security he spoke of could protect me. Yes, maybe Brent would get caught before he got to me. Yes, maybe Chan and I would find a way to be together despite all odds.
But it still felt to me that our hours together were numbered. And I wanted to make the most of it…
“K…Kaylee wait…” he murmured between kisses and laid his hands over mine, which were still cupping his face. Our breathing was ragged while he looked me directly in the eyes.
“We should talk about…” I shook my head. “Please, not now. I know we have to…but if I start to think about it now, I won’t be able to stop. And it will paralyse me. I don’t want to go back to that dark place right now, Chris. Please…please make me forget…”
My voice broke at the end. Chan frowned and cupped my cheek in his hand. After studying my face for a few seconds he nodded. He sat up, scooted us backwards and leaned against the headboard.
I leaned forward to kiss him again and felt his hands softly massaging my breasts.
I asked him to make me forget. And he did.

Holding hands we walked down the stairs and into the living room. It was almost lunchtime. I heard someone rummaging in the kitchen and saw Changbin, Felix and Seungmin sitting on the couch.
We had previously agreed that we would have to tell the members about the upcoming danger, but the thought of telling it again made me nauseous. We went to join the others in the living room and sat down next to each other.
Felix grinned at me at first, but his smile faded as soon as he saw our faces. “What happened? Is everything okay?” he asked and I shook my head. Chan cleared his throat. “Lix, would you mind getting Han, Minho and I.N.? We have something important to tell you.”
The young Australian nodded and went upstairs immediately, while Seungmin also got up. “I think Hyunjin-hyung is still at the dance practice room, I’ll go get him. Minho-hyung is in the kitchen. I will tell him to come here on my way downstairs.”
