Chapter 9

CHARLOTTE POV.

"Hayes told me what happened are you okay?" Nash asked me as he stood at my door. He saw that I was upset so he came in and shut the door behind me. "Charlotte no one can know about what happened," He said as he sat on my bed beside me. "You don't have feelings for him do you?" He continued to ask. "I don't know!" I said before I flopped on my bed. "Charlotte you can't, he is like your brother, your cousin," He said seriously. "I know, but I can't help it,"I said with tears forming in my eyes.

Hayes and I have been best friends since dad adopted me. He has been like a brother, but there are these feelings that won't go away. "Charlotte if you have feelings I am going have to tell your dad," He said as my eyes widened. "No no no no no you can't!" I said as I stood up. "What?" I turned to look at my door to see dad standing there. "Charlotte, do you have feelings for Hayes?" He asked as he walked into my bedroom.

"Um, no. We are talking about this guy at my school, but I am being home schooled now so it will never work," I lied looking at Nash technically saying, 'Go with it'. "Okay, well you better come back downstairs before we go to the pool in town," Dad said as he walked out of my room, "Okay," I replied. "That was close," I said wiping my forehead. "Charlotte, you can't have feelings for him and if you do, I will tell your dad," Nash said before he walked away. "Great," I said as I patted Bell on the ground that heard and saw everything.

I quickly got into my bathers and put a light sun dress over the top to wear of my swimmers. I wore a pink and blue dress that had poker dots on it. I packed a bag with a towel, sunscreen, hairbrush and all that type of stuff. Once I was done, I brought my bag and Bell downstairs. I saw Hayes sitting on the couch, he looked up and then immediately looked back down. Well this was going to be fun.

"Dad, can Bell come?" I asked while I was sitting on the ground with her. "yeah sure, but you are going to have to watch her," He said as he was packing stuff into his bag. "Okay," I replied. We left around 15 minutes later and everyone came. We walked into the pool and no one was there, it was because it was a school day. We walked through the gates of the pool and all the guys threw their stuff on the ground and jumped into the pull leaving me, Kate and Bell just standing there. "Are you guys gonna get in?" Gilinsky asked as he put his hand through his hair.

"I have to look after Bell," I said as I walked away. "I will keep Char company," Kate said as she started to walk after me. We sat down at some chairs and I played with Bell. "So hows life?" Kate asked as she put sun screen on her legs. "Okay," I said as I looked up and looked at Hayes. Kate kinda caught on to what I was talking about. "Charlotte! No way!" She said as she sat up immediately to find out more. "I know, but it was only once! And besides, he ran away afterwards," I said as I looked at Bell. "Char I'm sorry," She said while she started to pat Bell. "Its okay, I don't care anyway," I lied.

HAYES POV.

I was in the pool and I couldn't help but look at Charlotte. She was so stunning. I can't believe I ran away like a girl and then told my older brother! Like who does that?! Ever since that has happened I have ignoring her. Don't ask me why, I don't even know. I went under the water to scare Johnson and when I came up I was blind. "Who's that?" Carter asked as we all looked at the guy who was talking to Charlotte. "I don't know him," I replied. I could see Nash staring at me in the corner of my eye, but I just wanted to act like I didn't care. "Come on, let's play a game," I said before I went back under the water.

I have to admit that I had some competition. I didn't even know this guy, but I could tell that Char was interested in him. She was giggling and smiling A LOT! Matt got out of the pool and went up to him and started to talk to him. Crap! He made Matt laugh, no guy ever makes Matt laugh. This was just great.

CHARLOTTE POV.

I was sitting next to Kate and we were talking with Bell in my lap when a guy walked in through the gate. "Look at that hottie," Kate said nudging my shoulder. "What? Where?" I asked as I looked up and started to look frantically, then my eyes melted. "He is coming this way!" Kate said acting like a crazy fan girl. "Hey, you have a boyfriend," I said making us all laugh. He walked passed us looking at me through his dark brown eyes until he stopped. Me and Kate both looked at each other with a he smile on our faces.

"Hey, are you from around here?" He asked me. "Um, yeah, you?" I asked. "Yeah, I just moved here. My name is Isaac by the way," He said as he fixed his hair. "Cool, I'm Charlotte," I said trying not to blush, "Oh and this is Kate," I said pointing to her. "Hi," She said before she looked back at her phone. Even his name was perfect. I could see Hayes starring at me from the pool and I felt so guilty.

We started talking and my heart shattered when I found out that he was 18, oh well. He sat with me the whole day until I had to leave, he gave me his number but I couldn't call him anyway because I didn't have a phone. We said goodbye and I could tell that Hayes was mad when I hugged him so I pulled away immediately. "See you around Isaac," I said as I started to walk away with Bell. "See you around Char," He mocked.

HAYES POV.

Oh no he didn't! He just called her Char. I was like the only one who actually called her that. It was hard enough to see her hugging the guy and him giving her his number. "Hey," She said as she nudged me. I just looked at her. She knew that I was angry. "Hayes you were the one that ran away, and besides he was just a friend," She told me starting to get defensive. Everyone started to crowd around us, I saw Nash put his head in his hands like he knew that this wouldn't end up too good. I knew that he was right.

"I didn't know friends were that close," I said. "He is 18," She told me. Carter started to laugh so did Taylor and Aaron until they stopped by Matt coughing. "Guys what is going on here?" He said from the crowd of guys and Kate. "Nothing, can I walk home with Bell?" Charlotte asked. "Yeah, do you want me to come?" Matt asked. "No, it's okay," She replied before she walked away. "Good job genius," Nash said as he hit me over the head lightly then walking away.

CHARLOTTE POV.

I was pretty angry at Hayes, but at the same time I understood why he was so upset. I decided to walk home since the pool was literally only 15 minutes away from our house. I was walking into a street near mine when I saw a black BMW. I knew the car and I knew the person in it, I just couldn't put it all together. I started to walk faster once I realised that the car was following me. The guy got out of the car coming towards me and it clicked. It was my dad.
