CHARLOTTE POV.
"Charlotte! You need to get up or you will be late!" I heard a voice yell waking me from my beauty sleep. I couldn't care less about school. I used to love it but now, I don't see the point. "Come on," Dad said as he took the pillow away from my face. After rolling over about 10 times, I decided to get up and get ready. I had a shower and got changed, into a uniform.
I hated my uniform. It was something you would wear in the 1800's. I put the dress on, regretting it immediately. I left my brown hair down and then went down stairs. Carter and Taylor were still staying here, actually they were practically living here. I walked down the stairs with my back pack hanging off my right shoulder. "Hey," I said as I sat at the table opposite of Hayes. "Nice tie," I said with a small smile. "Nice dress," He said mocking me before he got up and walked away.
"Hey, I like the dress," Carter said sitting beside me. "Thanks," I said looking over at him. "Things are still bad between you guys?" He asked looking at me. "The only thing he has said to me was go away and nice dress, that's it," I said looking at the table. "I'm sorry Char," "Me too," I said getting up off of the chair grabbing an apple and sitting back down.
"You ready Charlotte?" Dad asked coming down stairs. "Yeah, see ya," I said looking at Carter. "See ya, Taylor said he will pick you and Hayes up after school, have a great day," Carter said. "Thanks," I replied before walking out of the house and getting in the front seat of the car. I could see Hayes in the side mirror, not moving, not even an inch.
"Okay, have a good day and don't do anything stupid," Dad said as he stopped the car in front of the school. I got out of the car with out saying a word and just started to walk towards the old looking gates. Great, we were late. I slowly walked to the front office and got my timetable with Hayes behind me. Once we walked out of the office I was left looking up and down the empty halls. "What do you have first?" I asked Hayes as he stood next to me.
"Chemistry," He replied before walking off. "Bye!" I shouted sarcastically before walking the opposite way. I had English which I kinda liked. I walked down the large halls until I finally found room 201. I knocked on the door before entering. "Hi, is this English?" I asked as I stood in front of at least 30 kids. Real smooth. "Your late, take a seat at the back," The teacher said before writing something on the board again.
I walked down to the back of the class as every one starred at me, I sat in a chair where there was a boy on my left and a girl sitting on my right. I sat down quietly getting my books out. "So, for those who do not know, my name is Mrs Anderson," She said as she started to write her name on the board. "The place where you are sitting right now is going to be your permanent seating plan," She said looking directly at me.
"Hey, I'm Rosie," The girl with short black hair beside me said putting her hand out for me to shake. "I'm Charlotte," I said with a fate smile looking into her dull blue eyes. "First day I see, it will get better," She said as she started to write down the notes from the board. "I hope," I said doing the same. The bell rang and every one started to pack up. "Now class, your homework is due tomorrow, if you aren't finish you will be getting a detention, clear?" She said looking at us individually.
We all nodded before she said, "Okay you can go," We started to walk out until she called my name. "Charlotte, can you come here for a minute?" She said looking at me sternly. "I will wait outside for you," Rosie said with a smile before exiting the door.
"Now, why were you late today?" She asked as she sat in her chair crossing her legs and acting all 'sophisticated'. "Well it was my first day and I got lost," I said stuttering. "Okay, this is your first warning, you can go now," She said before looking down at her book. I walked out of the room noticing that Mrs Anderson already hated me.
"You okay?" Rosie asked as we started to walk down the hall full of teenagers. "Yep," I said looking down as I held my books in my hand. "Where is you locker?" Rosie asked. "97," I replied looking at my sheet. "My is 203 so I am down at this end of the hall," She said as she stopped in front of her locker. "Your locker is down there," She said pointing to the hall opposite of where we were standing. "Thanks," I said with a smile. "See you around," She said before I started to walk off.
I got to my locker which was crowded by cheerleaders. I put my books away and started to look at my timetable. "Hey," A voice said beside me. I turned around to see a boy standing there. "Hi," I replied shyly. "I'm Hunter," He said as he looked at me through his brown eyes. "I'm Charlotte," I replied.
"Well, we are locker buddies," He said smiling. "What?" I asked confused. "Locker buddies, This is my locker," He said pointed to the locker to my left. "Right," I said looking at the ground. "Well I don't have anyone to eat lunch with, do you want to be my guest?" He asked making me laugh. "Sure," I replied before I closed my locker. Hunter was funny, extremely funny. But I didn't like like him. I just liked him, as a friend. The rest of the day went pretty fast
Science, History, German and Gym. It was pretty boring I guess. "See you tomorrow?" I said as I closed my locker door. "Of course," Hunter replied before walking away. I walked out of the doors and waited for Taylor's car. I saw Hayes just standing there. "Hey," I said as I just stood beside him. He didn't say a word he just looked in front of him. "How was you day?" I asked trying to make eye-contact with him. "Good," He said still looking in front of him.
"Mine was great too, thanks for asking," I said sarcastically making him look at me. "I see it didn't take long for you to move on, again," He said staring at me. "Hunter? Oh trust me, we are just friends," I said before walking towards Taylor car leaving Hayes standing there.
"How was your day?" Taylor asked as he started to drive away. "Good, I made a new frienddd," I said bragging the friend bit out. "That's awesome, what's her name?" He asked. "Rosie and Hunter," I said with a smile. "Hunter?" He asked. "Yeah, his a guy," I replied with a smile on my face. "That's cool," Taylor said looking back at the road.
We finally got home and I did all my homework, well attempted anyway. I went down and ate dinner in awkward silence, but the silence was becoming amine since it was the only thing happening in the house for the past 3 weeks.
I went back upstairs after another awkward 20 minutes until there was a knock on my door. "Come in," I shouted still looking at my laptop. "Hey," Hayes said standing at the door. "Oh hey," I said as I sat up after laying on my stomach. "I believe you," "What?" I said paying more attention.
"That you and that Hunter guy are just friends, because that's what we are," He said before leaving my door.I was pretty confused. After not talking to me for almost two months was I just friend-zoned?
