Chapter 5

CHARLOTTE POV.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off, I desperately didn't want to wake up but Hayes throw a pillow at my face. "Good morning!" He yelled. "Seriously?!" I asked as I sat up. "Sorry," He laughed before he sat beside me. "Are you excited?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm just really nervous at the same time," I told him. "It's okay, you can hang out with me and my friends," "Thanks," I said to him while I showed him a small smile. "Okay, I'm going to get ready," I told him as I got up and ran to the bathroom. "Okay," I heard him yell. I had a shower and got ready, I packed my bag that I was going to use and I headed down stairs.

"Want any breakfast?" Nash asked. "Um, no thanks," I said as I sat beside dad. "Good morning," I said to him. "Are you excited?" He asked. "Yes! I can't wait, but I'm really nervous," I told dad. "Hey, you'll be fine, everyone with love you," He told me as he ate his breakfast. "Hey," Hayes said while he got down stairs. "Wow, you get ready really quickly," Hayes told me as he sat down on the opposite side of the table. "Yeah and you get ready really slow," I told him as I laughed. The guys ate breakfast while I got my stuff ready, "You ready?" Hayes asked. "Yep," I quickly replied before I said goodbye to dad and Nash, "Bye," "Have fun!" Nash said as he hugged me, "Be yourself, have fun!" Dad said as I hugged him. I walked out the door with Hayes, the new school was only 15 minutes away from the house so we decided to walk.

We arrived at my new school, I had butterflies in my stomach. "Come on, lets go," Hayes said as he walked through the gate, I quickly followed behind him. He took me to the admin office where I had to check in and get my time table. As we were in the hallway walking towards the admin office a group of girls came up to Hayes pushing me out of the way, for a minute I thought that this school was a all girl school. "Guys I have to go," He said before he pushed his way out of the crowd and grabbed my hand and continued to walk me to the office. I turned around and all the girls just gave me a nasty look. "What was that about?" I asked in confused while he let go of my hand, "They all like me," He responded. That was a lot of girls, I thought to myself.

We finally got to the office, Hayes opened the door for me. "Mrs Hyland, this is Charlotte um," He started to talk not knowing what else to say. "Charlotte Espinosa," I told her. She typed my name into her computer and gave me my schedule, "Thank you," I told the lady before I walked out of the office. "What do you have first?" Hayes asked me while I was trying to look at my time table. "Um, I have English with Mr West," I told him, "Me too," He responded as I smiled at him. I walked with him to class, all these girls giving me nasty looks on the way, "Don't worry about them, they have nothing else better to do," Hayes whispered as we walked into the class. "Good morning Hayes, nice for you to finally show up, oh and who is this?" The teacher asked. "This is Charlotte," Hayes responded, the whole class just starred at me, this is going to be good. "Hello Charlotte, you can take a seat next to Hayes at the back. I am Mr West," The teacher told me, I just smiled and followed Hayes.

HAYES POV.

It was Charlottes first day and things weren't going that great for her, all these girls kept giving her nasty looks, probably because she was hanging out with me. We arrived in Mr West's English class and she sat next to me at the back, I didn't mind. "You okay?" I asked her while she was trying to read the notes on the board, "No, I've been out of school for a while now that everything is just jumbled up," She told me as she put her head in her hands. "I can tutor you after school, okay?" "Thanks Hayes," She told me as she started to write down the notes.

The bell rang and I waited for Char to pack up her stuff when Taylor who had a massive crush on me came up. "Hayes, how have you been?" She said as she put her hand on my shoulder, "Um pretty good," I said as I pulled away. "Hi, I'm Taylor," She said to Charlotte as she shook her hand, you could see Charlottes face go white. "Are you okay?" I asked her as Taylor was still shaking her hand. Char ripped her hand away, "Yeah, her grip was just a bit tight," She said as she grinned her teeth. "Bye Taylor," I said as I walk off with Charlotte behind me. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah, I'll be fine," She replied.

We got out of class when I saw all of my friends, "Hey dude, what up?" They all asked giving me fist bumps, "Not much dude," I replied. "Who is this babe?" One of my friends Luke asked looking at Charlotte, "This is Charlotte, she is out of bounds dude," I told him. He just starred back at me. I could tell that Charlotte felt awkward because she stood behind me. "I didn't know you had a girlfriend," He said to me keeping the stare going on. "She isn't my girlfriend" "Then what's the problem?" He asked trying to push me out of the way, "She is like my sister," I responded. I turned around and started to walk with Charlotte in the opposite direction, "Are you okay?" I asked he while I turned around to see if he was following us. "Yeah, are you?" "Yeah, I'll be fine," I told her as we went to her locker.

The day went by fast, Charlotte and I had every class together but gym, I told her that I would meet her outside of the gym auditorium, so after Biology I went and waited for her. I waited for 15 minutes when she walked out with a ice pack on her face, "Charlotte, what happened?" I said as I ran up to her to see if she was okay. "That girl Taylor, she pegged the basketball at me but acted like it was an accident," She told me. "Come on, lets go before I do something I will regret," I told her before I picked up her bagged and walked with her out of school. I felt pretty terrible and guilty because Charlotte was getting all this hate from all these girls because we were hanging out, and to top it all of Luke was being a creep. We walked home and I opened the door to the house, you could hear that all the guys were over. I walked through the door and Charlotte then followed, "What the heck happened to you?" Nash yelled walking towards us, that grabbed all the other guys attention.
