Of Sons And Daughters

Hannah Dust slowly opened her eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin and the cool breeze rustling through the trees around her. Blinking, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking around through the blur of sleep. She noticed the rest of the group, still fast asleep around her in their makeshift camp.

But where was Azure Aoi?

She scanned the area, searching for any sign of him, but he was nowhere to be seen. A knot of unease formed in her gut as she realized that he must have gone off alone to take on the Striga Grimm and save Ivan Saxe.

Suddenly, a distant explosion shook the trees, and Hannah sprang to her feet, heart pounding in her chest. She knew she had to hurry, or they might be too late to save Azure and Ivan.

Hannah: Guys, wake up!

She shouted, shaking the others awake. 

Hannah: Azure's gone to save Ivan, and we have to hurry and help him!

Without waiting for a response, she quickly summoned her Horse Despair, leaping onto its back and urging it toward the source of the noise. The rest of the group followed her lead, joining her in a mad dash through the forest.

As they raced through the trees, Hannah couldn't stop her thoughts from racing. She had to find Azure and Ivan before it was too late. They couldn't let him face the Striga Grimm alone, or they would all be in danger.

As they approached the site of the explosion, Hannah's heart pounded faster and faster. She could see the shadows of the Grimm moving through the trees ahead of them, and she knew that they were getting closer and closer to danger.

But she didn't stop. She rode on, desperate to reach Azure and Ivan before it was too late.

Hannah: Azure, please be ok.

Striga's Lair

As the Striga charges out of the cave to investigate the explosion, Azure watches above the cave entrance before dropping down and heading inside. Azure looks around the cave until he finds Ivan lying on the ground and rushes to him.

Azure: Ivan. Ivan, wake up.

Ivan: (groans) A-Azure, is that... you?

Azure: Yeah it's me. I'm here to get you out.

Ivan: Where are the others?

Azure: I-I came alone. The others might be heading here if they saw my distraction.

Ivan: You shouldn't have come alone.

Azure helps Ivan over his shoulder as they head for the exit until Ivan stops himself and Azure.

Azure: Come on, we need to-

Hannah: (over comms) Azure...

Azure: Hannah? Look I know you're probably mad at me but-

Hannah: You need to hide. The Grimm is heading back to its cave. Stay hidden.

Ivan pulls Azure behind the cave walls.

Azure listens and hears the sounds of massive footsteps as the Striga returns, smelling the air. It creeps slowly as it searches for the two.

Striga: I know you're here.

As the Striga draws near, it quickly turns to be pushed to the wall by a purple skeleton hand. Azure and Ivan look to see Hannah on Despair, holding out her hand.

Hannah: Come on! Run!

Ivan and Azure rush to Hannah and hop on Despair as the Striga roars in anger. Hannah then jerks the reins.
