Ahri: (whimpering) No. No, please. Stop it. (Wakes up) No!

Ahri jolts up, gasping for air as Akali tries to calm her down.

Akali: Hey hey, it's okay. Ahri, it's me. I'm here.

Ahri lays her head on Akali's chest as she starts to cry.

Akali: Bad dream?

Ahri: (sobbing) No, a memory.

Akali: Hey. (Cups Ahri's face in her hands) You can tell me y'know. I promised that I will be there for you as you were for me.

Ahri wipes her tears and takes a deep breath.

Ahri: Ok.

Ahri's Past

Ahri Light lived a simple life. It was peaceful. Her hometown, Lovestead, was full of people like her, but her people were beginning to grow sparse. She was lucky that her parents sheltered her, keeping her away from the harsh world around her.

And the cause of all of it? The cause of the destruction, the wipe-out of humans amongst Lovestead, and far worse than Ahri and her family could've imagined?

The Biancs.

The Biancs, years before Ahri's birth, had risen to power rapidly, representing the Faunus and slaughtering those against their beliefs– The rioting brought forth from the chaos of the previous oppression began to simmer down into fear. Humans were slaughtered, and the Faunus that had been inhabiting Lovestead for many years started to go missing– It raised a major concern amongst the few left.

These disappearances only continued as time went on.

Years passed– A full century of the Biancs' rule, and then, Ahri was born.

Ahri was barely a teen when the Biancs captured her family. It was swift, leaving little time for them to fight back– Her parents, though refusing valiantly to go with their captors, ended up being dragged to an unfamiliar place, just outside of Lovestead, alongside Ahri herself.

It took minimal effort to throw Ahri and her family into an unfamiliar building... They could not identify nor recall anyone because their captors had put bags over their heads upon their entrance.

Every precaution was taken, including the various twists and turns it took to bring them to their final destination. As hard as Ahri tried, she couldn't remember the multiple lefts and rights they had taken, let alone the times they had backtracked.

Finally, they arrived. Ahri was promptly thrown into a cell, and her parents to her left, while other Faunus sat quivering in the corner of the cell to her right. They weren't the first to be captured. The disappearances that had spread throughout Lovestead since the Bianc's appearance were planned; Calculated to ensure the minimum suspicion.

Ahri grasped the bars separating her from her parents and wept.

Time had become an enemy of Ahri's. She had lost track of it after the various years spent within her cell and her minimal interaction with those around her aside from murmurs of worry. She was waiting... Waiting for the worst.

She was treated terribly– As were the rest of the Faunus. They were given a meal daily, mostly made of undistinguishable food, and their clothing was replaced yearly... With only a bucket of water a week to suffice for cleanliness.
