Returning

The group stood in silence just at the mere sight of Vale until Ivan broke the silence.

Ivan: Well then, how about we stop staring and get down there?

Crimson: Agreed, we should see if any of the Beacon teachers are still here.

Azure turned his gaze toward Beacon Academy as he thought about how Diane's axe was probably still there. He wasn't able to retrieve it because he had to help Ivan carry Bleu during the Fall. He began to wonder if when he got to Vacuo, would Diane's family be there, will they want to talk to Azure, or will they at least want something to remember their daughter by?

Azure: Hey um, Ivan.

Ivan turned to Azure as Hannah was already looking at Azure.

Ivan: What is it, bud?

Azure: You all can head to Vale, but...

Ivan could see Azure's hesitation to finish and placed his hand on Azure's shoulder.

Ivan: What's up, Azure? You can tell us.

Azure: I... I want to head to the Academy. I need to find something there. It's important.

Raine: We mustn't waste any time. We need to find a ship and get to Vacuo as soon as we can.

Azure's gills droop as Bleu steps up to her mother.

Bleu: We don't even know the situation of the city right now. I'm sure that the six of us can figure it out while Azure goes to Beacon.

Crimson: He shouldn't go alone. There could still be Grimm activity up there.

Hannah: (raises her hand) I'll go with him.

Azure smiles as Hannah smiles back.

Ivan: Alright then, you two head to the Academy while the five of us check on the city. Let us know if you need help, we'll come straight to you.

Azure: Sure thing.

As Azure and Hannah head towards Beacon, the rest of the group start up the truck and head towards the city.

Moments later, Ivan, Bleu, Crimson, Raine, and Evelynn are driving through the old downtown district. Evelynn is shocked to see the still crumbled buildings that used to be filled with shops and restaurants that she and her teammates went to long ago.

Evelynn: This is horrible, (turns to Bleu) I'm sorry that we weren't here to fight with you.

Bleu grasps Evelynn's hand, reassuring her that she doesn't have to dwell on the past. Ivan surveys the area and is surprised to see no sign of the Grimm.

Crimson: This doesn't feel right. You would think that there would be more Grimm still here, right?

Ivan: It's too soon to say, but you're not wrong.

Bleu: When your father said that they were heading north to Vacuo, I didn't think it would be like this.

Evelynn: And from the looks of it, that Wyvern was still on top of Beacon Tower.

Raine: Salem must be gathering anything she has to strike at Vacuo. The only question is when.

Suddenly the truck stops after Ivan hears the sound of gunfire nearby.

Raine: It's coming from the other side of this building.

Bleu: They need help!

Crimson looks around and spots an alleyway that cuts through the buildings.

Crimson: Ivan, they'll need you more than us. I'll get the truck over there, you get to them through that alleyway.

Ivan looks towards the alleyway and gets out of the truck.
