Caius reached the house they rented for their mate around midnight. He caught the ending of the conversation from his brothers over the phone.

"You will get into that wedding tomorrow and drag her back if necessary."

"No," Marcus said, "She must choose this time Aro. Either she comes back to be with us or she dies."

"Marcus you can't be serious about killing her," Aro sounded upset.

"It's the law, Aro," Marcus' demeanor turned cold.

"What's going on? Where is our mate," Caius growled, startling Salvatore who sat with his back to him.

"Caius," Aro sounded relieved, "Talk to Marcus. Tell him we can't kill our mate."

"What happened to Amara," he asked again. Staring straight at Salvatore, he walked slowly in front of the man. Treating the human as prey.

"Master," Salvatore stood up and slowly started backing away, "Its a long story."

"Caius," Aro began explaining everything that happened and the story just enraged the blonde. His eyes become slits and zeroed in on the human. He pounced, grabbing the human's neck about to crush his windpipe.

"Caius don't kill him, Salvatore is of use to us still," Aro ordered, "If you must kill someone, find the driver. He was the idiot here."

Caius roared in anger before throwing the human away from him. Salvatore slid across the tiled ground and stopped when he hit the wall. Aro and Marcus listened as the other vampire went through the house and found the driver. There was a scream before cursing ensued from Caius.

"Caius? Will you come back to the phone please? We need to talk," Aro called out into the void.

It was a second of silence before the furious vampire was back on the phone with his brothers. He might be covered in blood now, but that didn't matter to him right now. What mattered was his mate and getting her back. "What are we going to do to get her back," he growled.

"Nothing," Marcus said despondent, "She needs to come to the decision on her own."

"Marcus, you've given up so easily?" Aro's voice questioned.

"I will always want her to be with us, but maybe this is the end," Marcus stated.

"The end," Caius questioned, his brother's mellow dramatic statement caused curiosity to strike within him.

"The end of the Volturi, the end of us," Marcus grew more despondent as he spoke, "Maybe it's our time to die."

"Don't speak like that or give up and fall right back into depression, Brother," this was the first time in forever that Aro called Marcus family, "She will return to us."

"With how many times she has had to forgive you Aro, I don't think she will," a depressed Marcus retorted.

"Marcus snap out of it," Caius hissed. He would not be losing Amarantha or anything else. No one would. "We need to unite and find her."

"We know where she is. She's with her shifter friend," Aro said

"Tell me why I shouldn't go kill every last one of them," Caius venomously said. He had his obvious reasons for disliking any kind of wolf. He just couldn't help, but hate her friend for other reasons though.

Caius heard Aro sigh before speaking, "I have two brothers going to the extreme right now. Can we not meet in the middle to get Amarantha back without bloodshed?"
