"I expect kisses."

Once breakfast was nearly ready, I left Isa and Hunter to finish it, walking the path back to my room. As I got closer, something felt off. The halls grew darker — a black substance splattered on the floor. 'Why does that smell like... Tar?' I knelt near a puddle of the substance before noticing a light under my door. 'Cass would never open the curtains. Not during the day.'

I stood and rushed to the door, trying to open it but failing. 'Oh no,' Panic set in as I tried to bash the door down, my heart skipping from fear. 'Please don't be him. Anyone but him. Gods, I'd even take having to deal with Zeus or Poseidon!' I managed to break the door down, but my heart stopped and my blood ran ice cold.

The window was open — shattered glass scattering the ground — and the bedsheets a mess. Items were thrown about the room, mostly broken now from rage and self-defense. I hesitated before closing my eyes, taking a shaky breath before whispering. "Kronos."

"Oh?" The deep chuckle of my grandfather rang in my ears. "Calling on my blessing? You must be desperate."

"Help me find her. Help me find out if he is back."

"He?"

"Gods, do you ever pay attention?"

"To you? Not necessarily."

'...At least he's honest.'

"If your love didn't remind me of your grandmother and me, I wouldn't be helping."

"Thank you? I think?"

"Just hold onto something," He rolled his eyes as I opened my eyes and grabbed the door frame.

Gold dust surrounded me before it spread across the room, recreating what happened earlier for me to see. The dust created an image of Cass sleeping in our bed, making my heart race. Something burst through the window, causing Cassandra to hiss and try to hide under the blanket. 'She's in so much pain...'

The man stood and ripped the blanket off Cassandra, making her hiss louder and reach for her sickle. I watched as the man lifted Cassandra over his shoulder before looking around even though Cassandra struggled — as if he was looking for me. The dust shook and a sound similar to a growl filled the room — the man leaving out the window a moment later. 'She wasn't covered!'

"I need to find them."

"How do you propose you'll do that?"

"I..."

"That little runt is great at tracking," Kronos sighed after a moment. "And I'm sure that bitch- sorry, witch, can cast a tracking spell."

"Do you ever not insult demigods?"

"I only insult the ones that imprisoned me."

"You tried to kill the gods! And them! And humanity!"

Kronos shrugged and grinned as the gold dust faded — leaving only a figure of him before me. "You say tomato I say tomato."

"...I'm so glad Isa kicked your ass," I huffed. "But thank you."

"Whatever."

The dust dispersed and I left my room, clenching my jaw as I walked to the lady's office. 'How do I tell her that Cass was taken?! By the giant born to kill my father of all beings! How did he even come back?!' I stopped outside of her room and froze, racking my brain for answers to her potential questions. With a deep breath, I knocked on her door and entered when she told me to.

Her eyes held confusion and heartache as she sat on her bed. 'She must've heard the struggle and woke up...' I opened my mouth before a buzzing was heard, making me move into the room and help her get dressed. Once she was dressed, we headed to the dining hall and waited for her other daughters to arrive. When they did, Daniela clung to Isa — who was confused and still wearing an apron — while Bela held Hunter close, her eyes full of anger and grief. 'Cass isn't dead. Well, not again, at least. I can still feel her.'

"[Y/N]... Where is my daughter?"

"Taken," I sighed. "By someone looking for me, I think."

"What?!" Isa and Hunter gasped.

"I asked Grandpa to show me," I told Isa and refused to look at Bela and Daniela. "The evidence left behind points to Alcyoneus."

"Alcyoneus," Isa growled, making Daniela release them, their eyes flashing red. "He's back?!"

"From what I've seen, yes. I'm not happy about it. Do you think you and Hunter can track them? I can go get her-."

"Not alone. Not if he was looking for you."

"Isa-."

"You're not fighting him alone," They huffed, fear showing in their eyes. "Please."

"I'm not like you," I frowned, making Isa flinch. "I'm not a demigod, I'm better. I can get her, I just need a good tracking spell."

"I'll see what I can do," Hunter spoke up and excused herself.

"At least one of you is showing initiative..."

Isa muttered that they were going to join Hunter before I started handing out the food, ignoring the looks from the ladies. 'I know that was harsh, but it's true. They always tried to protect me, but I'm stronger than them. Especially with Kronos's blessing.' As the ladies began eating, I thought back to what Kronos showed me, hoping to figure out how long Cassandra's been out of the castle. 'It can't be too long, right? If the girls didn't get there before I did, I must've just missed them... Damnit!'

I paced instead of taking a seat and eating, my appetite disappearing as my mind focused on wanting to find and rescue Cassandra. My gaze shifted to the door when Isa returned, making me watch them until they took a seat and started eating. 'I guess Hunter's doing the rest by herself,' Isa stared at their plate while they ate, the ache in my chest burning hotter. 'I promise I'll apologize later, I just want Cass back and I can't afford having to wait on someone else.'

Hunter returned a few minutes later, a vial of light blue dust in her hand. "Sprinkle this on something of hers and the rest will flow out, floating to her location."

"A guiding spelling."

"If you're going alone, you'll need it. It will show you the easiest path to her and back to the castle. Be quick."

I grabbed the vial and stared at the dust for a moment. "Just have warm blankets near a fireplace when we get back. And blood."

"Be safe, and good luck."
