"So they do have those?!"

"I never said they drink it often," I giggled. "It's mostly for the little ones, seeing as the older gods stick to their wine."

"Do they drink anything other than wine?"

"Beer, vodka — depends on the god, really."

"...What about Isa?"

"Anything that isn't beer. Which is funny, considering that's what our aunt makes."

"Your aunt makes beer for the gods?!"

"Goddess of the harvest," I reminded her. "It's easy for her to make it."

Cassandra hummed and kissed my cheek. "Interesting family you have."

"We have," I corrected. "Our families have been connected since I started working here — we both know that."

Before I could tilt our heads to kiss her, there was a knock at our door. When I called for the person to enter, I sent a small smile to Hunter and nodded to Costin. She made her way over to the bed and noticed the vial of nectar, concern filling her violet eyes as she carefully picked him up. Costin let out a soft whine and sob until she kissed his forehead, picking up the vial a moment later.

"He didn't throw up, did he?"

"No, I gave him the nectar before he could," I promised with a smile. "He only took a sip, so he's still going to be in pain."

Hunter let out a relieved sigh before kissing his head. "I'll take him from here then. You two enjoy your day together."

"Let us know when he starts feeling better," Cassandra hummed. "Little guy could barely sleep without tossing and turning, even when I was holding him."

"Then he's sicker than I thought. I'll keep you updated, don't worry."

Hunter left with Costin after that, handing him to Bela once she was in the hall. Once our door shut, Cassandra moved to lay on top of me, pecking my lips before resting her head on my chest. 'Five more minutes,' I smirked to myself as my arms wrapped around her. 'Like you say every morning.' She giggled and let the silence settle upon us once more, the two of us finally able to be this close again.

We stayed like that for hours instead of minutes, the only thing breaking the peaceful silence being Cassandra's annoyed huff. I cracked open my eyes when she sat up, smiling at the annoyed pout on her face. 'What'd I do wrong? She said she wanted cuddles.'

"I need blood."

"Oh, thank the gods! I thought I was doing this wrong."

"No, for once I did want to just cuddle," She murmured. "But I haven't had a lot of blood lately."

"Drink from me, then we get back to cuddling."

"Deal."

Cassandra leaned down and pressed a kiss under my pulse point, her fangs grazing my skin. I entangled a hand in her hair before her fangs moved to my pulse point and sank in, earning a soft gasp from me. Her grip on me tightened as her fangs retracted and she began drinking, a soft, pleased groan leaving her.

Once she finished drinking, Cassandra licked the wounds until my healing kicked in, a pleased hum leaving her. She rested her head on my chest again and took my hand in hers, intertwining our fingers. 'I should probably eat soon too, but I'm so comfortable,' My eyes fluttered shut as I pulled the blanket up to our shoulders again. 'If anyone gets worried, they'll wake one of us.'

Cassandra woke me when she let out a hiss, making my grip tighten until my eyes fluttered open. "What is it?"

"Door," She huffed and buried her face in my neck. "Come in!"

Isa opened the door and carried in a bowl. "If you're going to stay in bed all day, the least you can do is eat some ambrosia."

"I am hungry," I murmured as Cassandra let me sit up. "Mom sent this, didn't she?"

"She stopped by to check on Costin after hearing he was sick," Isa smiled and handed me the bowl. "When we said you hadn't left Cassandra's side all day, she checked on you too. Then she left to get some of this for you."

"I thought I smelled her," Cassandra yawned and moved off my lap. "How's Costin doing?"

"Better, but he's staying with Bela and Dani. Still too hot, even after drinking nectar. Apollo says it'll pass."

"It better," Cassandra hissed. "Or I'm stabbing him for lying."

Isa laughed and handed her a glass of wine. "I'll let him know that before he leaves. Enjoy — and try to at least join us for dinner?"

"We'll see," Cassandra yawned. "[Y/N]'s comfortable — could sleep all day laying on her."

"...I'll let your mother know it's a 'maybe' then."

"Okay! We'll try!"

Isa laughed and left the room, leaving Cassandra and me alone again. Cassandra laid down to rest her head on my lap after setting the glass of wine on the table, muttering for me to wake her once I finish my meal. 'Sleepy still? I hope this isn't something to worry about,' I frowned slightly until I heard her soft snoring. 'Or maybe I'm just overthinking.'

As I ate, I ran my fingers through her hair, smiling when she began purring. 'Yeah, I'm overthinking.' It wasn't long before I finished my bowl, setting it next to the glass before laying down and helping Cassandra shift to my chest. She happily wrapped her arms around my waist, a loud purr leaving her after she placed a kiss on my chest.

"You're comfortable," Cassandra giggled. "So warm."

"I've heard," I giggled and watched her lift her head. "Go back to sleep."

"Let's take a bath."

"You just want to see me naked."

"Partially," She grinned and pecked my lips. "But also, I want a bath."

"I'll get it started," I laughed as she swarmed to the bathroom. "That's cheating!"

"Hurry up or you'll miss your show!"

I hopped out of bed and scrambled after her, grinning when she glanced back, waiting for me to make my way to her before she started undressing. Cassandra let her dress drop slowly before she grabbed my hands and moved them to her body, pulling me closer to her. I kissed across her shoulder slowly while removing her bra, smiling when she let out a purr.

"You've purred more today than you normally do in one week."

"I'm just... Happy to be with you again," Cassandra hummed and gently cupped my cheek. "Happy to be 'alive' so to speak."

I turned her to face me before pulling her in for a kiss, my heart skipping a beat at her purr. "So am I, my love."

"The thought of leaving you — all of you — terrified me."

"That will never become a reality. I swear to you."

"I know," She smiled and cupped my cheeks. "You haven't let the fact that our love is technically forbidden stop you from loving and protecting me, so I know."

"I'll do everything in my power to continue to love and protect you, Lovebug."

"And I'll do the same for you, my light."
