"Be safe, and good luck."

I raced out of the castle, my heart pounding against my chest while the cold wind nipped at my face. 'If I'm cold, Cass must've been in excruciating pain...' My heart ached as I followed the gold, twinkling dust that guided me. 'I'll find you, my love. I swear.' The dust took a turn once we were outside of the village before disappearing, pulling a frustrated scream out of me.

'Why did it do that?! If anyone's magic shouldn't fail, it's Hunter's magic!' My body froze when the smell of tar reached me. I slowly turned my head and locked eyes with glowing red eyes, my eyes shifting to the nearly crystalized Cassandra. 'Baby...'

"Let her go," I growled. "You're killing her!"

"I don't care," The Giant grinned as my heart ached. "The only way to end what the fates have in store for you is to kill her."

'What?' The air around me began to heat up — feeling the heat absorbing into my body. "I said; Let. Her. Go."

"So blind to your own fate. Take a look at your sibling! It's a glimpse!"

"LET. HER. GO!"

As the heat continued to build, I stepped toward the giant and ignored the burning ground at my feet. 'This will only stun him, but it should be long enough for me to grab her.'

'Grab her and go,' My Father's voice echoed in my head. 'If it isn't safe for me to fight him alone, it isn't safe for you either.'

'...Will she live?'

'If you do what I said. Disobey me and... I want him gone just as bad as you do, but I want your girlfriend safe more. Do this, and I promise we will stop him together.'

'Okay,' The heat around me turned into a ring of fire, making the giant laugh — but thawed Cassandra. 'It's not possible for us to stop him. We have to decrease his temperature-.'

'Focus on your girlfriend.'

A tear slid down Cassandra's cheek as the light increased, causing Alcyoneus to drop her. I caught her before she touched the snow, sinking into the shadows a split second later. Cassandra shivered and clung to me, making me pick up my pace until we were inside the castle again. I rushed to a fireplace and sat down with her, holding her against my body, trying to make sure she didn't get too hot.

'Too hot, and I kill her... Not hot enough, and I kill her...' I cupped her cheek and held her tight, placing a kiss on her head. 'Please.' My gaze lifted when the ladies rushed to us, causing Isa to step between us. They kept them away while I worked on trying to warm up Cassandra, not wanting either of them to get hurt.

"Isa..."

"I can't help," They sighed. "I get too hot too fast. I don't have what I need to build another stabilizer. I'm sorry..."

"Hunter?" I sobbed, trembling at how cold her skin was — how crystal-like it had become. "Anything?"

"I'm sorry," Hunter shook her head. "The best I can do is try to let Apollo know... And hope for the best."

"Don't leave me," I whimpered against Cassandra's cheek. "Please... I'll take any reality in which you live... Just don't leave me."

"[Y/N]," Apollo's melodic voice whispered next to me. "Give her here."

"You can't take her-."

"It's to save her. I'm your cousin. Trust me."

With shaky hands, I helped him lift her into his arms. "Apollo..."

"This won't be a Hyacinthus situation. I swear."

I whimpered when he zoomed away with her, ignoring as Isa sat next to me and cleared their throat. 'They had every right to be mad at me, but they'd rather comfort me.' Isa wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close to them, letting me sob against their shoulder. I muttered apologies to them, remembering the hurt in their eyes from earlier. 'Cass,' I watched the ladies huddle into their mother. 'I've never felt more helpless...'

Hours went by before Apollo returned to us, a solemn look in his eyes. He stood in front of the fireplace and cleared his throat, letting Isa and me move to the couch with Hunter and the ladies. I flinched when Lady Dimitrescu tried to comfort me. 'Cass will always be in danger because of me... This is what Isa felt in their last life, isn't it?'

"Good news; She's stable and will live."

"Bad news?" I sighed.

"I don't know when she'll wake up, or when she'll be able to feed as normal."

"How do we make sure he never comes back? What's his weakness?" Lady Dimitrescu hissed.

"Good and bad news for that. His weakness is the same weakness that nearly killed your daughter. Cold. When you cool tar down, it solidifies. The opposite of Planck temperature is absolute zero."

"He can reach that? Planck? I thought it-."

"Theoretical, yes, but he could achieve it. Destroy this system in the process, but he could theoretically achieve it. Absolute zero is a lot easier, especially for the children of Hades. But, we gods will handle him from here."

"If he—."

"I'll deal with him if he ever shows up again," I growled, the veins in my hands beginning to glow. "We can beat him with absolute zero. Just need me and Isa."

"That's technically true," Apollo nodded slowly. "But dangerous. Best to let us handle it."

"Like you handled protecting this village from him?! If the gods did their jobs-!"

"[Y/N]. Misguided anger. We talked about this."

"...Can I go see my girlfriend?"

"Go ahead," Apollo bowed. "Try to keep it to about two or three people per visit."

"Girls," Lady Dimitrescu breathed, nudging her daughters gently. "Go with [Y/N]... I can wait."

"Mother..."

"It's okay... I know how worried you two are. Go."

I let the girls swarm me to Cassandra's bed, setting me next to her. My hands moved to her cheeks as tears filled my eyes. 'Baby...' I lowered my forehead to hers and sobbed, silently praying for her to wake up soon. 'My light...'

"σ' αγαπώ," I whispered. "I love you so much."
