My Pov

I finally made it to Vermillion City. I was still sad over releasing Free, so I hoped that battling Lt. Surge would take my mind of it. He was only going to have Raichu. but it was strong. My best bet would be to use Dot, but I think I need to train a little more. So, I went to the tall grass area that was nearby. After I defeated a Trainer that was nearby, Primo started shivering.

"Primo?" I asked, worried that he might be sick. That's when he started glowing. His body grew and changed and when the light faded, he had changed.

"Primeape!" Primo exclaimed. I pointed my Pokédex at him.

"Primeape, the Pig Monkey Pokémon and the evolved form of Mankey. Always furious and tenacious to boot. It will not abandon chasing its quarry until it is caught." the Pokédex said. I had a Primeape now!

"Primo, I'm so proud of you!" I exclaimed, hugging him. Primo blushed a little. I took everyone to the Pokémon Center and got them healed up. I decided to take on the Gym. I think I'm as ready as can be. I was somewhat shaking because I remembered Ash's first battle with Lt. Surge and remembered how brutal it was. I hoped my little Paras would be able to handle it. I glupped and walked into the Gym. It was dark, but then the lights click on. I saw the Gym battle field.

"Welcome." I turned and saw him, Lt. Surge. The Vermillion City Gym Leader. "I take it your here to try and earn a Thunder Badge, right?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm Winnie Evos from Pallet Town. I'm here to challenge you, Lt. Surge." I said.

"Well, don't hold your breath. Go, Raichu!" Lt. Surge, throwing a PokéBall. In a ball of white light appeared Lt. Surge's Raichu. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Raichu, the Mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Pikachu. Its long tail serves as a ground to protect itself from its own high voltage power." the Pokédex said. I was going to need to play on speed, as I remember Lt. Surge had said he evolved his Pikachu as soon as he got it. This meant it never learned moves like Quick Attack or Agility. I took a deep breath and sent out my Pokémon.

"Go, Dot!" I said, throwing her PokéBall. It opened and revealed my Paras in a flash of white light.

"Begin the match!" the referee called.

"Raichu, Body Slam!" Lt. Surge commanded. Raichu jumped to where it was above Dot and began to descend.

"Dot, just like we practiced, jump out of the way and then hit it with Scratch!" I said. Dot managed to jump out of the way, causing Raichu to slam itself on the ground. Dot then jumped in front of Raichu and began rapidly scratching Raichu's face.

"What the-?!" Lt. Surge exclaimed.

"You're Raichu may be powerful Surge, but from what I've heard you evolved your Pikachu too soon. That cost it its speed." I said. Surge gritted his teeth.

"Raichu, hit with Thunder Shock!" Lt. Surge commanded. Raichu pushed Dot back and its body became cloaked in electricity. The electricity then formed into a lightning bolt than went toward Dot. I knew Dot wouldn't be able to dodge it in time, so we'll try to lessen the damage.

"Dot, dig your pincers into the ground to absorb the shock!" I said. Dot dug her pincers into the field just before the attack hit her. I could tell she felt some of it, but due to her typing and her pincers in the ground, the attack didn't do much.

"Rai?" Raichu squeaked in confusion.

"How?!" Lt. Surge exclaimed.

"My little Dot, being part Grass-type, just needs to ground herself and your Electric attacks wouldn't do anything." I said.

"Enough playin' around! Raichu, shut it down with Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge yelled.

"Dot, get ready!" I said.

"Paras!" Dot said. Raichu once again became cloaked in electricity, but much more intensely than before. That's when the electricity began to fly around the field. That's when several lightning bolts went up and started coming back down toward Dot.

"Now!" I yelled. The electricity made contact and caused a large cloud of debris and dust to cover the field. The dust settled and Raichu was panting and Dot was nowhere to be seen.

"Huh, I guess your little bug couldn't handle it." Lt. Surge scoffed. I grinned.

"Check again." I said. Lt. Surge looked confused before he noticed the hole. "Now Dot! Use Dig!" Dot shot up from underneath Raichu, sending it flying into the air. "Now, Mega Drain!" A white light shot from Dot's mushrooms and hit Raichu. Raichu fell to the ground and was knocked out. Dot landed a few seconds later.

"Paras!" Dot cried. She then became cloaked in a white light. Her whole body grew and changed. The light faded revealing she had evolved! "Parasect!" I pointed my Pokédex at her.

"Parasect, the Mushroom Pokémon and the evolved form of Paras. The bug host is drained of energy by the mushrooms on its back. They appear to do all the thinking." the Pokédex said.

"Dot, you evolved!" I exclaimed. I wrapped my arms around her mushroom. Lt. Surge returned Raichu and then walked over to me.

"Well, you're one of the first Trainers to beat me in a long time, Winnie. I'm proud to give you this Thunder Badge as proof of your victory here." Lt. Surge said, holding out his hand. In it, was a Thunder Badge. I took it and felt a sense of pride knowing not only did I have my third badge, but now two of my Pokémon were fully evolved. I thanked Lt. Surge and hurried to the Pokémon Center to get Dot healed up. While I waited, I decided to call Professor Oak. I got to one of the phones and dialed his number.

"Hello? Oh, Winnie! So good to hear from you." Professor Oak said.

"Sorry I haven't called in a while." I said. I took out the badge case I had and opened it. "Look! I just earned my third badge. Also, Primo and Dot both evolved!"

"That's good to hear. I assume you'll be heading to Celadon City." Professor Oak said.

"Yeah, that or Lavender Town to see the Pokémon Tower." I said.

"Be careful of the Pokémon Tower. I hear many Ghost Pokémon live there and they are notorious for playing pranks and scaring people." Professor Oak warned.

"I know. I'll just have to keep a sharp eye out." I said. After talking a little more I decided to end the call. After Nurse Joy came back with Dot, I went to the dining room where me and my Pokémon had dinner. While everyone ate, I thought about the remaining Gyms. The Celadon Gym used Grass-types, the Fuchsia Gym used Poison-types, the Saffron Gym used Psychic-types, the Cinnabar Gym used Fire-types and the Viridian Gym used Ground-types. I would need to find a Fire-type or a Flying-type to have an absolute advantage at the Celadon Gym. I needed to come up with a plan.
