The Hideout

I walked into the Game Corner and saw how busy it was. Gee, I wonder how much money Team Rocket's raking in from this? I thought about where the switch was and walked over to the wall. I found one poster and lifted it up. There was a button! I pressed it. There was a small rumbling that caused some people to exclaim worry, before a set of stairs appeared. There was a hideout here! I quickly went down the stairs and found what looked like a hidden laboratory.

"Hey, how'd you get in here!?" a voice yelled. I looked and saw two Team Rocket Grunts.

"Intruders need to be dealt with!" the other said. They each threw a PokéBall. One had a Raticate and the other had a Machop. I sent out Zippy and Fireball. I managed to beat them and knocked the Grunts out. I let all my Pokémon out.

"Guys, Team Rocket's working down here. They probably have a bunch of Pokémon captured down here.. If you find any Pokémon cages, break them out!" I said. Everyone nodded. We hurried through the base, encountering many Grunts as we did. All of my Pokémon took care of them. Dot, Tad and Zippy especially as they either paralyzed them or put them to sleep. There had to be rare Pokémon down here. I passed by a window before coming to a stop. Inside the room were a bunch of cages and inside each one was a Pokémon. "Zippy, use Thunderbolt on the lock!"

"Pika. Pika...chu!" Zippy said, shot a lightning bolt at the keypad. It malfunctioned and the door opened. I ran in and saw multiple different Pokémon; Nidoran, Sandshrew, Clefairy, Oddish, Growlithe, Staryu, Abra, Seel, Bellsprout and so on. That's when my eyes fell on one cage. Inside it was a Dratini! How in the world did they find this little one? They were probably keeping it captive to sell its shed skins. The Dratini looked at me with frightened eyes. I gently reached my hand through the bars and lightly petted the Dratini.

"Don't worry everyone. I'll get you all out of here. Dot, Slash!" I said. Dot's pincers glowed white and slashed all the cages' bars. All the Pokémon cried out in joy and jumped from the cages. "Okay. Fireball, Dot, Zippy. You three stay here and keep the Pokémon safe until I come back."

"Pika/Para/Flare!" Zippy, Dot and Fireball said, nodding. Me, Lovie, Primo and Tad all went deeper into the hideout. That's when I came face-to-face with the Team Rocket Leader, Giovanni. His back was turned to me and he was petting his Persian.

"I was wondering who was causing trouble in this hideout." he said, turning around. "And it turns out to be a little girl."

"Little girl?!" I growled. I was short in my past life and customers in my job would pop "innocent" jabs at my height. "I'll show you little girl!"

"You want a battle? Fine." Giovanni said. He took out a PokéBall and threw it. It opened and revealed a Rhyhorn. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Rhyhorn, the Spikes Pokémon. Its massive bones are 1000 times harder than human bones. It can easily knock a trailer flying." the Pokédex said. Rhyhorn was a Rock/Ground type. Tad was perfect.

"Tad, you go." I said.

"Poli!" Tad nodded. He jumped into position.

"Rhyhorn, Stomp!" Giovanni ordered. Rhyhorn charged toward Tad.

"Tad, jump then hit it with Bubble Beam!" I said. Tad jumped straight up and hit Rhyhorn dead on with a Bubble Beam. Rhyhorn was still standing, but I could tell it took considerate damage.

"Horn Attack." Giovanni ordered. Rhyhorn actually managed to jump and hit Tad with its horn.

"Tad!" Giovanni ordered. I exclaimed. Tad fell back to the ground.

"Stomp." Giovanni ordered Rhyhorn then began to stomp on Tad. "Finish it!" Rhyhorn raised up to stomp on Tad again.

"Use Hypnosis to knock it off balance!" I exclaimed. The swirl on Tad's belly glowed blue before sending waves toward Rhyhorn. This caused it to teeter back and forth. "Bubble Beam, quick!" Tad once again shot off a barrage of bubbles that hit Rhyhorn. This one knocked it out. I heard Giovanni scoff. Tad teetered back and forth. I quickly ran to catch. "You did good Tad. Take a rest." I took out his PokéBall and returned him. Giovanni returned Rhyhorn.

"Go, Persian." he said. The Pokémon jumped in front. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Persian, the Classy Cat Pokémon and the evolved form of Meowth. Although its fur has many admirers, it is tough to raise as a pet because of its fickle meanness." the Pokédex said. I thought for a minute and decided to let Primo handle it.

"Primo. You go." I said.

"Primeape!" Primo exclaimed, jumped into position.

"Fury Swipes." Giovanni ordered. Persian ran toward Primo and then jumped.

"Screech." I said. Primo let out this loud scream that caused everyone to cover their ears. Persian stopped mid-attack and covered its ears. "Now Low Kick!" Primo kicked Persian, causing it to become airborne. "Finish with Mega Punch!" Primo's jumped into the air. His fist became cloaked in white light as it had contact with Persian. Persian fell back toward the ground and it had fainted. Giovanni returned it too.

"Well, you seemed to have bested me this time." he said. I heard the emphasis on 'this time'. "Pray that you don't encounter me again. I wouldn't go that easy on you." He took out a smoke bomb and threw it to the ground. It caused a large dust cloud that covered the whole area. I started coughing from the gas, along with Primo and Lovie. When the smoke cleared, Giovanni had vanished.

"Damn." I said. I knew I was going to end up encountering him again. More than likely in Saffron City at Silph Co. I decided not to worry about it for now. I went back to the room where I left Zippy, Dot and Fireball. They were all still there and so were the other Pokémon. "Let's go everyone." We made our way out of the hideout and all the Pokémon ran in different directions. "Well, guy. Let's go- huh?" I looked down and saw the Dratini had stayed behind and currently curled around my ankle. I bent down and scooped it up into my arms.

"*coos*" Dratini sounded.

"Do you wanna be my friend?" I asked. It bumped its head against cheek and nuzzled me. I dug through my back and found an Ultra that I found inside the hideout. I gently tapped Dratini with it and it went inside. The ball wiggled three times and then the little went out. "I caught a Dratini!" The ball then glowed white and disappeared. I hope Professor Oak takes good care of her. I decided to look up Dratini's data.

"Dratini, the Dragon Pokémon. Long considered a mythical Pokémon until recently when a small colony was found living underwater." the Pokédex said.

"I think I'll call her Sapphire." I said. I headed to the Pokémon Center, got everyone healed up and decided to stay at my grandparents again.
