My Pov

I spent what felt like days after I finally trained my new little one that my grandma had given me. I finally decided I was ready to take on the Celadon Gym. I made my way there and was greeted by several girls.

"Welcome to the Celadon Gym!" one greeted.

"Thank you. I'm here to ask for a Gym Battle with the Gym Leader." I said. One of them took me deeper in the Gym. We came to the battlefield and I saw Erika tending to her other Grass-type Pokémon.

"Erika, there is a Trainer wishing to challenge you." the girl said. Erika stood up and faced me.

"Welcome to the Celadon Gym. I gladly accept your challenge." Erika said. We took our places on the field.

"Go, Tangela!" She threw a PokéBall and it opened, revealing a Tangela. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Tangela, the Vine Pokémon. Its identity is obscured by masses of thick, blue vines. The vines are said to never stop growing." the Pokédex said. It was a pure Grass-type. Of course, I think the only moves it knows are Stun Spore, Constrict and maybe Bind. Which means it safe for me to use-

"Tad, I choose you!" I said, throwing Tad's ball. It opened to reveal my Poliwag. I heard whispers, probably saying I was crazy for using a Water-type.

"Tangela, Bind!" Erika commanded. Two of Tangela's vines shot out toward Tad.

"Tad, slap them away with Double Slap!" I said. Right as the vines would have grabbed him, he rapidly swung his tail and slapped the vines down. Tangela pulled the reddened vines and winced.

"Tangela!" Erika cried.

"Quick Tad, knock it out balance with Bubblebeam!" I said. A barrage of bubbles shot from his mouth and hit the ground, which shot Tangela into the air. Tad redirected his attack to where Tangela was right in the middle. Tangela fell back to the ground, creating a cloud of dust. Did I get it? My answer came when-

"Constrict!" Erika said. Two vines shot out from the cloud and grabbed Tad. The cloud clear and revealed Tangela still standing. "Pull Poliwag in." Tangela began to reel in its vines. Tad was trying to resist, but Tangela had a lot of strength. Then, I got an idea.

"Tad, stand your ground!" I said. Tad planted his feet into the field, stopping where he was. Tangela tried to pull harder while Tad pulled back. "Now, let go!" Tad tucked his feet and flung toward Tangela. "Now, hit with Hypnosis!" The swirl on Tad's stomach glowed blue as blue waves came and hit Tangela. Tangela's vines loosed their grip as Tangela tried to keep its eyes open. "Now, Body Slam!" Using his tail, Tad projected himself up into the air and slammed into Tangela with full force. Tangela fainted from the impact.

"Poli! Poli?" Tad said, before becoming cloaked in white light. He grew taller, his tail disappeared and he grew arms. The light faded to reveal he had evolved into Poliwhirl. "Poliwhirl!"

"Tad!" I exclaimed. I took out my Pokédex and pointed it at Tad.

"Poliwhirl, the Tadpole Pokémon and the evolved form of Poliwag. Capable of living on land, but prefers to stay in water. If it is out of water, it sweats to keep its skin moist." the Pokédex said. Erika returned it.

"Rest now Tangela." she said. Tad ran back to me. I knelt down and gave him a big hug and nuzzled him.

"Poli! Poli!" Tad cried.

"I so proud of you Tad! You did good." I said, taking out his PokéBall. "You rest up." I returned him.

"You have raised your Pokémon well that they can best a Pokémon with a type advantage." Erika said. She took out another PokéBall. "Let's see how you do against this one. Go Weepinbell!" From the ball, appear the little flycatcher. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Weepinbell, the Flycatcher Pokémon and the evolved form of Bellsprout. When hungry, it swallows anything that moves. Its hapless prey is melted inside by strong acids." the Pokédex said. I thought for a moment and decided to use Lovie.

"Lovie, come here!" I said. She quickly scampered to the field.

"Weepinbell, Razor Leaf." Erika said. Weepinbell spun around, releasing many leaves that zipped toward Lovie.

"Lovie, Reflect!" I said. A bubble of light appeared around Lovie. The leaves bounced off the bubble and didn't even hurt Lovie.

Weepinbell, use Vine Whip to break the barrier." Erika said. Two vines shot from Weepinbell's body and began to hit the bubble. Perfect.

"Lovie, Mimic!" I said. Her body glowed orange. The bubble finally burst, but Weepinbell pulled its vines back. "Alright! Lovie, Vine Whip!" Two vines shot from the fur around her neck and wrapped around Weepinbell. "Swing it around!" Lovie started to move her vines in a circular motion, spinning Weepinbell around. The little Pokémon clearly was dizzy.

"Weepinbell, try to break loose!" Erika cried, but it was too dizzy to hear her or react.

"Slam it down!" I said. Lovie jumped up and swung her vines down. A dust cloud formed as Weepinbell made contact with the ground. The dust clear and revealed Weepinbell had fainted. Erika returned Weepinbell and Lovie ran back to me. "Nice job Lovie!"

"Vui! Vui vui!" Lovie exclaimed.

"You've done well. Let's see if how you do well against my partner. Go Gloom!" Erika said, throwing her last PokéBall. It opened, revealing her Gloom. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Gloom, the Weed Pokémon and the evolved form of Oddish. The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey." the Pokédex said. That's right. Her Gloom doesn't need to attack when it has the stench. I thought and decided to use that one.

"Lovie, stay back." I said.

"Vui." Lovie said, nodding. She jumped back. I took out the PokéBall.

"Go, Fireball!" I said, throwing the ball. It opened and revealed my new Pokémon, Flareon.

"Flare!" Fireball exclaimed. Yep. The three Pokémon my grandma had given were Eevees and the items she gave me were a Water, Thunder and Fire Stone. I sent my Vaporeon(Tide) and Jolteon(Sparks) to Professor Oak and decided to keep Fireball.

"Gloom, now." Erika said. A dark yellow cloud came from Gloom's mushroom. I couldn't let Fireball get hit with that smell.

"Fireball, counter the stench with Smog." I said. Fireball opened his mouth and a thick black fog came from it and seemed to neutralize the stench. "Now, set off a bang with Ember." Small let flames came from Fireball's mouth and hit the smog cloud causing it to explode. Fireball managed to jump out of the way, but Gloom who was trapped inside the smog, got hit with the full force of the explosion.

"Gloom!" Erika said. Gloom fell back, slightly injured.

"Use Swift!" I said. A barrage of stars shot from Fireball's mouth and hit Gloom dead on.

"Gloom!" Gloom cried. Gloom was about to be finished.

"Gloom, try and use Razor Leaf." Erika said. Gloom spun around, releasing a barrage of leaves.

"Use Ember, one last time!" I said. Small flames came from Fireball's mouth and hit each of the leaves, causing them to burn and fall to the ground. Gloom had to move around and try not to get burned.

"Now, Quick Attack!" I said. Fireball zipped forward and rammed into Gloom. Gloom fell backwards, showing it had fainted. "We did it!" I jumped up and down. Fireball ran back to me and jumped into my arms. "You did so good for your first Gym Battle."

"Flare!" Fireball said, licking my face. Erika returned Gloom and walked over to me.

"You did very well. You've raised you Pokémon with love and care. With that, I'm honor to present you with this Rainbow Badge as proof of your victory here." Erika said, holding out her hand. In it was the beautiful rainbow flower-shaped badge. I took it and marveled at.

"Thank you!" I said. I waved good-bye to Erika and hurried to the Pokémon Center. After I got everyone healed up, I noticed the Game Corner. I wonder if its like in the game and Team Rocket's running it.
