My Pov

After coming up with a plan(and introducing everyone to Lapi, my new Lapras), I marched forward into the Saffron Gym. My best bet was going to be Dot, but hopefully, Zippy and Lovie could provide some help too. I walked past several rooms, where budding Psychic Trainers were honing their psychic powers. I wished Espeon was in Gen 1, but I'd have to wait until Johto to even have the opinion. I looked at Lovie, who I was carrying, and wondered if she'd evolve in Johto, Sinnoh or Kalos? If I'm still in this world by then, I'll find out soon enough. I finally made it to the end of the hall and came to a pair of large doors. I glupped and and pushed the doors open. The room was dark for a brief minute before the lights flashed on. I looked forward and saw a young woman sitting on a large, throne-like chair at the other end.

"Welcome." she said.

"Are you Sabrina?" I asked. Given that Ash had already been here, that meant that Sabrina wasn't cold or ruthless anymore.

"Yes. I assume you are here to challenge me for a Marsh Badge." she said.

"Yes." I said. She stood and walked to her spot on the battlefield.

"Unlike the other Gym Leaders you have faced throughout your journey, we shall only have a one-on-one match." Sabrina said. So, she'd only use Kadabra. I took my spot on the battlefield and took out Dot's ball.

"Go, Dot!" I exclaimed, throwing the ball. It opened and revealed my ready to go Parasect.

"Para!" Dot exclaimed. Sabrina took out her Pokémon.

"Go, Alakazam!" Sabrina said, throwing the ball. It opened and revealed, not Kadabra, but its final form Alakazam. I pointed my Pokédex at it.

"Alakazam, the Psi Pokémon and the evolved form of Kadabra. Its brain can outperform a super-computer. Its intelligence quotient is said to be 5,000." the Pokédex said. Great. I already thought I was going to have my hands full with Kadabra, but this is worst. I needed to be extra careful here.

"Alakazam, Psychic." Sabrina said. Alakazam's eyes glowed red and and Dot became airborne. Dot was struggling to get loose from the attack, but she couldn't. Could she even use an attack? I had to try.

"Dot, Spore! Straight down!" I called. White powder shot from Dot and hit the ground, causing it to billow around the battlefield. It reached Alakazam, causing it to stagger and lose its grip on Dot. She fell back toward the and bounced back to my side.

"Alakazam, you Psychic to blow the powder away." Sabrina said. Alakazam quickly created a whirlwind using its psychic power and dissipated the Spore attack. "Clever use of a status attack. Using it distract Alakazam so its focus was interrupted and Parasect could escape."

"Thanks. Let's try this." I said. I looked to Dot and nodded to her. She once again used Spore to cover the area in a cloud of mist. However, this time is was to buy time. "Quick, Growth!" Dot brought her pincers together. A green orb of light formed in-between them and she shot a beam of light toward Alakazam. I noticed her body grow slightly before shrinking back down to size.

"Alakazam, clear the Spore." Sabrina said. Alakazam once again cleared the Spore, but I noticed it was staggering. Not only did it lose energy from being hit by Growth, it got exposed to Spore twice.

"Quick, while Alakazam is dizzy, Leech Life!" I exclaimed. Dot ran and latched onto Alakazam, biting into its shoulder. Alakazam cried out in pain.

"Alakazam, shake it off!" Sabrina exclaimed. Alakazam tried to push Dot away, but she was latched on tightly.

"Hit it with an up close Slash!" I said. One of Dot's pincers glowed and hit Alakazam, causing her to become detached from it.

"Alakazam, Recover." Sabrina said. Alakazam became cloaked in light and the injury on its shoulder disappeared. Hopefully, it still had the damage from Slash.

"Dot, go in from another Slash!" I said. Dot's pincer glowed as she lunged toward Alakazam.

"Reflect!" Sabrina said. A barrier appeared in front of Alakazam, causing Dot to be pushed back. I wonder if her trying to raise Alakazam's defense was a sign it was wearing out? Well, only one thing left to do.

"Dot, use Growth to raise your power and then Slash until that Reflect breaks!" I said. Dot jumped onto the barrier and began to slash at it, pushing Alakazam back until-

*SHATTER*

The barrier shattered. Both Sabrina and Alakazam looked shocked at the fact that Dot had broken the Reflect. "Leech Life!" Dot latched onto Alakazam, biting down hard. Alakazam fell backwards and Dot let go. Alakazam had fainted.

"Para!" Dot cried, rearing up slightly and pumping her pincers up and down like she was doing fist bumps. Wow, she's really happy. Dot scampered back over to me as Sabrina returned Alakazam.

"You did well, Alakazam. Rest up now." Sabrina said. I hugged Dot and patted her mushroom.

"You did so well Dot!" I said. She nuzzled against my face.

"Parasect!" she cooed. Sabrina walked over to me and I stood up.

"You showed great skill and strategy in this battle. I am honored to present you with this." Sabrina said, holding out her hand. In it was a Marsh Badge. "This badge symbolizes your victory here at the Saffron Gym." I took it and marveled at it.

"Thank you." I said.

"You're determination reminds me of the Trainer who, despite being at a disadvantage, didn't give up." Sabrina said.

"Do you mean Ash?" I asked. Sabrina actually warmly smiled and nodded.

"Yes. Thanks to him, well, his Haunter, I was finally freed from the prison I had created for myself and I could finally start living and enjoying life instead of focusing on just my psychic powers." Sabrina said.

"Yeah, he helps a lot of people in his own special way." I said. We shook hands and I hurried to the Pokémon Center to get Dot healed up. Now, I needed to head to Cinnabar Island. Thanks to Lapi, I'd be able to get there in no time. So, I pedaled back to Fuchsia City, hopped on Lapi and headed to Cinnabar Island. As we sailed on the sea, I thought about how my adventure was going. I sighed and thought; I don't want this to end. I want to stay in this world and have more adventures than I can count.

Think this might be my shortest chapter. Sorry, if the battle against Sabrina was lackluster.
