Esme's POV

I sat on the roof, leaning against the edge with my knees hugged to my chest. God, I was so stupid. I didn't know why I didn't see it coming. He had been so awful to be around since our first date and I just thought that we'd suddenly have a nice night together?

I aggressively wiped away the tears streaming down my face, upset that they were wasted on that asshole.

"Esme?" I suddenly heard a familiar voice. My head shot up, my eyes making contact with a familiar pair of green ones.

"Raph? What are you doing here?" I choked out, quickly wiping away my tears. I watched his look of concern turn into anger as he walked towards me. He leaned down and took my hand in his to stop me from wiping away my tears.

"Who did this to you?"

My throat dried up. I couldn't tell him the truth, if he got so angry about Leo making me cry what would he do if he found out what happened with Grayson? I couldn't risk that.

"Nothing, it's nothing," I finally managed to get out, not having it in me to try and come up with an excuse.

"Clearly it's not nothing, Esme, please just tell me what happened," he pleaded, the tone of his voice taking me off guard. I didn't think I had ever heard him sound like this.

I looked down at our joined hands and felt guilt rush through me. Why hadn't I reached out to him yet? I had meant to after my talk with Leo, but for some reason I didn't. Was it because of what he said?

"You like him, don't you?"

"I'm sorry I haven't reached out to you since Leo and I made up," I said softly, "I think I've just been nervous to see you again."

"Nervous? Why have you been nervous?" he asked, seemingly distracted from the original topic.

"I think it's because... of something Leo told me," I admitted, feeling my palms beginning to sweat.

"Seriously? What did that idiot say now? Is he the reason you're crying?" he asked, "I swear I'm gonna-"

"No, he's not the reason I'm crying."

"Then what happened?"

"I don't wanna say," I mumbled.

"Listen, I know I'm not the most feely type of person, but I'll still listen to whatever is bothering you," Raph said.

"I just feel so stupid, and angry," I frowned.

"Now that I can help with."

"How?" I asked.

He stood back up and held a hand out to me.

"Come with me and I'll show you."

. . .

"Here you go," Raph said as he handed me a metal bat.

"What's this for?"

"That is for this," he opened up the door of the warehouse, revealing a bunch of old broken objects. The items ranged from vases to huge cabinets. Raph grabbed another bat that was propped up next to the doors.

"Whenever I get really angry I come here to let off some steam. A lot of people dump their old garbage here, which means we can destroy anything we want."

I walked up to one of the wooden structures, looking back at him.

"So I just hit it?"

"Yup, here, like this," he suddenly brought his bat up and swung it, destroying a coat hanger that stood next to him. That did look like fun. I turned back towards the china cabinet in front of me. I pulled my arms back, remembering Grayson's words, the fact that he tried to get me drunk to take advantage of me, and then I swung, the glass shattering and going everywhere.
