*Two weeks later*
Esme's POV
"You may enter," my father's booming voice resounded from behind the door. I pushed it open stepping inside, the first thing to catch my attention being Alexander and Grayson Kingston standing by my father's throne.
What was going on here?
My steps faltered. Why were they all here?
"Come on over, we won't bite," Kingston smirked, noticing my apprehension. He reminded me a lot of Grayson. I didn't like that.
I made my way over, bowing to my father in respect before straightening up again.
"I called you here because we have set a date for the wedding," my master suddenly said.
I felt my heart drop to my stomach as my palms grew sweaty. Did that mean they already made enough mind control serum to make up for what they lost in the explosion? Or was this going to be an actual marriage to combine our clans?
I glanced over to Grayson, seeing a smug look in his eyes, his lip quirking up in a slight smirk. I wanted to puke.
"When is it?" I asked, nervously. I gripped my hand tighter behind my back to get it to stop shaking.
"This weekend," Kingston suddenly joined in, clapping his hands together, a joyful look on his face.
"This...weekend?" I asked. If this was still the original plan then this wedding would spell for the downfall of New York. If the plan had changed I would be stuck with that son of a bitch for the rest of my life.
Either way I needed to let the guys know.
My mind went to Raph, an overwhelming amount of guilt filling me. What would happen to us if I got married for real?
"Yes. Tonight you will be joining Grayson on an assignment from the Sharks. This will help you see how things work on their side of things," Shredder said.
After this mission I'd contact the guys and let them know what was going on.
"Yes master," I replied, bowing to him as Grayson walked towards me, starting to head towards the door.
"Follow me," I heard him say as he walked by me. I straightened up and followed him out of the room.
I carefully watched Grayson walking ahead of me, on edge because of what happened the last time we were together. What would happen if we actually got married? Would I ever get to see Raph again? I could feel my stress levels rising with each new thought.
But what if the plan was continuing like normal? If the guys managed to prevent it what would happen after? Would I keep working for the Shredder, continue to sneak around with Raph?
Neither of those sounded good.
We walked down the hallways before reaching the front door, which upon opening revealed a black van with tinted windows waiting for us.
"What is this assignment we're going on?" I asked, looking up at him.
"We're dealing with a traitor," he responded, looking down at me with a look of... excitement?
I had to resist the urge to shudder as I gulped. For some reason, at that moment, I remembered that one of his favorite hobbies was hunting.
I had a very bad feeling about this.
. . .
"Joey, you really fucked up now, haven't you?" Grayson questioned, pulling out a pair of gloves from his pocket and slipping them on.
