Esme's POV

I had spent the last week planning our date and had almost everything that I needed for it. I just had one last thing to grab from April, which was where I was currently heading. I leapt across rooftops heading towards her place when I heard four familiar voices. I stopped, looking over towards where they came from. Sure enough the four brothers were a few rooftops over from me.

"What a coincidence," I murmured to myself, going over to the ledge of the roof and ducking down so they couldn't see me. I couldn't help but notice how similar this situation was to when I went looking for the guys to be sure Donnie was alright.

"Okay guys, tonight's training is going to be a simple game of hide and seek. I'll be seeking and if I find you, you're out. The winner won't have to do chores for a week," Leo said.

"Oh heck yeah! I'm totally winning this thing. I'm like a shadow brah," Mikey responded. I covered my mouth, stifling a laugh.

"We'll see about that," Raph replied.

"Alright guys, you have 40 seconds, starting now," Leo said, beginning to count. I glanced over the edge, watching as they all scattered to find their respective hiding spots. My eyes trailed after Raph, a sudden impulse taking over me as I quickly leapt onto the fire escape and began to head towards where he had gone.

I climbed up onto the roof that I had seen him stop at and glanced around. I could hear Leo in the distance, almost done counting and began to panic. I didn't want to give his position away, but where the hell was he?

That's when my attention went to the water tower on the other side of the roof. I ran over and began to climb up the rungs, not knowing where else he could've gone and deciding to take a risk. A risk that paid off, might I add, because when I reached the top someone suddenly pulled me into the shadows of the thick rungs, under the water tank.

I squeaked, but when I noticed Raph I relaxed.

"Ready or not, here I come!" Leo called.

"What are you doing here?" he whispered. Just then I noticed how little space we had up here, and just how close our bodies were.

"I saw you guys and thought I'd come say hi," I answered, not wanting to say why exactly I had been out and about. Suddenly, I felt myself beginning to slip off the rung, grabbing onto Raph's arms and pulling myself forward. At the same time, he grabbed my waist, pulling me flush against him.

"Careful, wouldn't want you to fall," he murmured. Was it just me or was it getting hot up here? I glanced up at him to see his eyes already on me.

"So are you excited for our date tomorrow?" I asked, needing some type of distraction from my pounding heart and not so pure thoughts.

"Very. This week couldn't go by fast enough," he replied.

"Wanna give me a hint as to what I have to look forward to?" he smirked.

"Nope, you're just gonna have to wait and see," I smiled up at him.

"Man, the suspense is killing me," he chuckled.

"Well, maybe I could give you something else to help you last until tomorrow," I said, my eyes flitting to his lips. When did I become so bold? Casey would be proud.

"I think I'd like that," he murmured back, his grip on me tightening as we began to lean towards each other.

"Found you," Leo suddenly whispered behind us, causing us to go tumbling off the rung, panicked screams leaving both of us.

Luckily Raph was able to grab onto the structure at the last minute, still holding onto me, so we didn't become pancakes on the rooftop.

"Oh hey Esme," Donnie said, standing underneath us.

"Hi Donnie," I nervously waved down at him.

"What the hell dude, why'd you have to sneak up on us like that?" Raph snapped at Leo, helping me over to the rungs so we could climb down.

"I tried to say something before but you guys seemed to be in the middle of something," he snickered, a knowing look on his smug face. My cheeks turned bright red as I got to the bottom of the water tower followed closely by Raph. He opened his mouth, seeming like he was gonna protest for a second but at the last minute deciding not to. I mean, it's not like he was wrong.

"Whatever, so where's Mikey? Wait, don't tell me
he-" but Raph was quickly cut off by Mikey jumping in between all of us.

"That's right, I'm the winner! In your face!" he shouted, pointing at Raph. He just grumbled in response.

"Esme! When did you get here?" Mikey asked, suddenly noticing me.

"That doesn't really matter, I was actually just leaving," I laughed nervously, now just wanting to get the hell out of there before I died of embarrassment.

"See you guys later!" I called as I turned and began to run towards the edge of the roof.

I glanced back at Raph and grinned as the turtles sent me off with a plethora of goodbyes.

"See you tomorrow." As I ran along the next rooftop I could hear Mikey tease Raph.

"You are so into her dude," he laughed. The last thing I could hear was a loud smack.

.  .  .

I paced back and forth in front of the abandoned building as I waited for Raph. Now I understood why he had been so freaked out before, this was nerve wracking. I just hoped that he liked what I had set up.

That's when I heard someone on the side of the building. I quickly looked over to see Raph come around the corner.

"Hey, sorry, I hope I'm not late. The guys wouldn't stop bothering me when I tried to leave," he gave me an apologetic grin.

"Oh no, you're totally good, I think you're early actually," I said.

"Really? Then forget what I said," he laughed nervously. I giggled, beginning to feel myself get more comfortable now that he was actually here.

"Are you ready for the amazing date I have planned?"

"Yes, I'm ready to have my mind blown," he replied.

"Great," I smiled, "right this way." I motioned towards the door, grabbing the handles, and then throwing them open.

"Tada!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms open dramatically.

"Welcome to our very own movie theater!"
