Sun. Burns. Suck.

All four of us stayed outside all day, and I was the only one that burned. Vincent naturally tans, Gregory somehow stayed the same color, and Sarah Beth freckled. I burned. Any skin that had been exposed was bright red, including my feet and scalp. Some places even started to blister!

When the sun went down, is when it really started to hurt. I laid down, sprawled out on teh living room floor. Sarah Beth, the only on of us that could cook, was fixing dinner for all of us. Gregory was napping on the sofa, and Vincent was in the shower. When he came out, he loked realy comfortible in a pair of baggy pajama pants and a bare chest. He bent down beside me, and I opened my eyes.

"Sunlight is not my friend." I tried ot joke. He half smiled.

"I can tell. You need some lotion or something."

"This is awful. It hurts to move."

"I'll get some ointment for you."

"What can I do to help it now?"

"I honestly don't know. They haven't told me about burns and I don't know by personal experience. Maybe a cold shower?"

"It's worth a try." I confessed, holding up a hand for him to help me up. He took my hand and I winced; every bit of red skin hurt to be touched. He appologized and helped me to my feet. We walked together towards the bedroom, but parted when I reached the bathroom.

I undressed, just leaving my clothes in the middle of the floor. After turning the water on, I got a wash rag and wet it. Then, I started scrubbing whre my Mark was. It was hotter than usual, probably from all the sun. Somehow, the make up came off surprisingly easy. Where ever the cosmetic had been, ther was a pale, white spot. 'Great' I though, and then started laughing. Vincent would havea big, white spot in the middle of his tan.

After that, I stepped into the shower, only to be greeted by pain. The cold water only made the sunburn hurt worse. Every drop was like a mini knife digging into my skin. I hurridly slid out of the water's path and stepped out. I reached around the curtain and turned the water to hot, hoping it would hurt as much. When I stepped back in, I discovered it didn't. So, I toughed it out and let hte pain flow. When I got out, I had to pat myself dry.

Vincent knocked on the door.

"Hey, Ellie? Are you dressed?" He questioned.

"Getting there..." I confessed while trying to get my boxers on without touching the red skin. After about fifteen minutes, I was completly dressed. I opened the door and let Vincent in. He had a bag of creams and ointments in his hand, along with the makeup. I took the makeup and put it on my Mark, which had gotten warmer. Once it was hidden, Vincent got out some of the ointment. I sat on the edge of the bathtub, spreading my legs out infront of me.

"Did cold water help?" He asked, bending down to start rubbing a light pink lotion on my leg. AS soon as it touched, my skn started to calm down. I let out a relieved breath.

"That feels awesome! Where did you get it?"

"While you were in the shower, I paid a visit to work. I asked them what to do about extrem sunburn, and they gave me this. And-" He stopped and pulled something else from the bag. "This is for tomarrown." He handed me a bottle of sunscreen, and I laughed a bit. I put the bottle down, then scopped up some ointment and rubbed it into my calp. Vincent had moved on to my arms when Sarah Beth stuck her head into the doorway.

"Hey! Gregory and I are going out to eat! Do you want to come?"

Does it look like I want to come?" I put more ointment on my neck.

"OKay, well, I cooked dinner for you two to eat while we're out!" She smiled, then turned her head towards Gregory's voice as he yelled from the livingroom.

"Sarah Beth! Do I have to wear a shirt?!"

"Yes, Gregory!" Her tone was full of bossiness. "You do!"

"Ohhh!" He let out a moan. Sarah Beth shook her head.

"Okay, so, bye!" She disapeared back through the house. Vincent and I finished and went on through the house. We ate, then I laid down in the floor like I had ealier. Vincent laid out on the couch, and closed his eyes as well.

"I'm not sure if we can keep our Marks hidden all week."

"I know what you mean. But this make up seems to stay on pretty well."

"If you rub against it while you're wet, it'll come off."

"I guess we're just going to have to be careful."

"We always have to be. I can't ait for the Dark Lord to come to full power so we don't have to be so careful." I groaned.

"Yeah. I wish we didn't have to do that. Gregoriy is going to have to tell Sarah Beth sometime soon. We've all heard stories from the first war of people keeping it secret. I never ends well."

"He really likes her."

"I know. He lvoe sher." Vincent replied. My mind automatically went back to fifth year, on the night of Draco's birthday party. I had gotten upset and stormed out. Vincent had followed me out onto the front lawn and thried to talk to me. 'He doesn't love you.' He tried ot tell me, but I denied him by askig how he knew. "Because I love you' Was his reply.

And he didn't love me, and Vincent does love me, so I guess that qualifie's him to judge if they were in love.

"I just don't want to see it fall apart." He went on. I didn't reaply, and instead rolled over. What ever that ointment was it was already drawing the burn out of my skin or atleast mumbling it. I rolled over again, but stopped when a blister popped.

"Ew..." I stoop up, pulling my pants leg off the spot where it had popped. Vincent frowned. "This isn't going to be a good night."
