Meeting Vincent's Family

Vincent was asleep when seven o'clock rolled around, so I had to wake him. The poor thing was so tired that he was reluctant to get up. I didn't blame him: since he had been in the Hospital Wing durning all of his free time, this was the first time he had had time to actually rest..  I felt bad for waking him, but I had to.

After he rolled out of bed and straightened up his clothes, he took my hand and we went into the dinning room. As promised, a group of people I had never seen before were there, all putting on smiles when they saw us.

"And you much be Eleanor." A woman with shirt brown hair that resembled Lovell stepped up and hugged me. I stiffened, unsure of what to do. Hugging wasn't treally my thing, especially by woman I didn't know, even if it was Vincent's family.

"Um, Hi..." I let go of Vincent's hand. She unwrapped her arms and stepped back.

"I'm Vincent's aunt, Abbatissa. That's my husband, Harold, and our daughter Tambre." The woman guestered to a man and a small, dark haired child around the age of four.

"Nice to met you..." I strained for something to say. I felt extremily out of place.

"Well, I guess it's my turn." The other woman stepped up. "I'm Charolette's sister, Radella. That's my husband, Faber. And my daughter Dahlia, and my son, Kadee." These kids looked a ltitle older than the other child, Dahlia looking around eight and Kadee probably around six.

"Lovely.." I again struggled for something to say.

"Well, now that introductions have been made, ti's time to eat!" Charlette seemed eager to have us eat her dinner she had made. She herded us all into the dinning room and instructed us to sit down. Once we were all in a chair, which made everything very crowded since the table typically seated five, she brought out the food and layed it on the table. We ate in silence for a while, until Abbatissa, like before, decided to break the ice.

"If you are Eleanor Snape, do you know a Fyrus or a Severus?"

"Yeah," I tried to sound casual, but I really hated explaining this. It seemed like anytime I met someone, they asked. What did it matter? Couldn't I just be Eleanor instead of 'Fyrus's Girl' or 'Severus's Niece'? Why couldn't I just be me? "My father was Fyrus, but when he died, Uncle Severus kind of took me in." She noddedi n understanding.

"He had always been careless with Dark Magic. According to the Prophet a few years ago, that's how he passed?"

"Yeah..." I loked down into my mashed potatoes. I could not express how mcuh I hadted discussing my fahter's death with people I wasn't close to. Vincent sensed my discomfort and tried to help.

"Elle and I have set a date for the wedding." He said, trying to turn the conversations somewhere else.

"Oh, really?" Radella excitdly asked. "When is it?"

"June 9th."

"We're having it at the Wilderness Gardens." I added, wiping my mouth with a napkin and pushing my plate back. Like usual, I finished eating before everyone else.

"Oh! The Gardens are so lovely!" Abbatissa exclaimed. "How ever did you get it reserved in the summer? That's almost impossible!"

"I guess it was just luck." I shrugged. Truthfully, I didn't know how I did it, either. Across the table,  the little girl, Tambre, tugged on her father's shirt sleeve. He put down his fork and looked at her.

"Duddy, is Vincey's friend a princess?"

"I don't think so. Why would you ask that?"

"Because, in all of my story books, princesses get married. She's getting married to Vincey!"

"Don't be silly!" Dahlia said across the table. "She's not pretty enough to be a princess!"

"I think she's pretty!" Tambre defended. "She has pretty hair!"

"Her hair is dirty!"

"That is enough!" Faber stopped his daughter. "I am so sorry, Eleanor. She doesn't know when to stop."

"Eh, it's okay."  I shook my head. "I've been called much worse.

"I think you're pretty, Ellie, and a princess!" Tambre smiled at me.

"No, I'm not a princess, nor am I pretty, but thank you."

"Oh, Elle, you're beautiful." Vince looked over at me before standing up with his cup. "To my beautiful soon-to-be wife!" To my embarrassment, they all toasted.

"Oh, look. She's all red!" Lovell laughed, making my blush deepen.

"Can I be excused?" I didn't wait for an answer. Instead I got up and went through the house. I wasn't sure how I felt about all of this. It wasn't like they were being rude, but I wasn't used to all  oof the attention, nor did I like it. I needed some alone time. In Vincent's room, I grabbed Orion, then excited, and headed towrds the front door.

"Where are you going?" Vincent asked as I passed the dinning room.

"Running." I didn't even look at him.  Instead, I focused on the door, and when I got there, I ran out in a sprint, pushing myself full force.

I came back in about an hour and a half later. The family was no longer in the dinning room, but was dispersed around the house. Vincent was in his room, probably while he still could be, absentmindedly stumming his gutiar.

"I haven't seen that in a while." I mused, sitting down beside him.

"Yeah. I haven't have time to play it, recently.

"You haven't had time to do anything, recently."

"I know. I've had work."

"Yes, we all know."

"Did you have a good run?"

"Yeah. I'm tired. I kind of want to shower and go to bed, but there are all talking in the sitting room."

"I can clear them out, if you want."

"That would be nice. I think we both good nights rest."

"I would like any rest." He laughed, putting down his gutair and getting up. I went to my own bag and took out a pair of pajamas and 'night pants'.

"You deserve it." I smiled at him, and then made my way to the shower.

Once I was out, I went to the sitting room to find that Vincent had succeeded. There were no adults in there, and the sofa had been transfigured into a bed. His wand was on the coffee table, and he himself was laying in the bed, his eyes closed. Virgo and Orion were curled up in one corner of the matress. I laid down beside him, and he opened his eyes.

"Feel better?"

"Yeah." I yawned and cuddled up against him. He put an arm around me.

"Imagine; In a few monthes, we will be ending the day like this every day." He moved over and kissed me.

"I know! Isn't it wonderful!"

"Heavenly..." He kissed me again.

"Hopefully, hot..." I raised an eyebrown before rolling ontop of him, our stomaches pressed against each other. We wrapped his arms around me.

"Very, very hot. And sexy..." He put his lips to mine, and before I knew it, we were snogging. HIs hands ran up and down my body, making me want more. So much more...

"Okay, kids. You can wait a few more monthes." Both of our heads turned as Faber stood in the doorway. Both of us blushed, but he didn't seem phased. It remembed me of Scabior's easiness.

"Oh, we weren't..." Vincent trailed off as I rolled back onto the sheets. He laughed.

"I was joking. You should have seen your faces! I was just coming to say goodnight!"

"Goodnight..." Both of us mumbled and watched him leave the room. I looked at Vincent, and he looked back at me, then, I snuggled next to him again.

"I guess we'll just have to settle for this." I closed my eyes. He sighed.

"Yeah, I guess so. For now."
