Sarah Beth~
During Spring Holiday, I stayed a tthe school instead of going to Mr. Cornelius's as Rufus requested. I knew if I went home, I would put those I loved in ganger. I was slowly becoming an 'enemy of the war" as MissCarrow put it. News of my constant rebelious behavior had spread to the Ministry. Needless to say, they weren't very ahppy with my actions. That's why when I was told two Ministry Personel wee here for me, I kinda freacked out. And it didnt' help that I was, yet again, bed ridden in the Hospital Wing due to the Crucio Crust. If they were to try to hurt me, I was helpless.
"Hurry! Hide me!" I exclaimed to Vincent .He shook his head.
"Your the one goign against the Dar kLord, you can face the conciquences yourself." His voice sounded bitter. He started oto turn when I let out a small whimper. "Not my problem." He shrugged, then went to the other side of the room.
I looked around, unsure of how I was going to get out of this. a couple minutes passed, then I heard the door knob turn. I willed myself ot sit up, only to discover that the door was, infact, opening. With no toher options at hand, I pulled hte blankets over my head after laying down. If I stayed silent, maybe they wouldn't hear me.
"I know she's in here. Professor Snape said so." A familiar voice said. My ears perked up.
"I don't see her." Said an even mair familiar voice. I took the blanket back off my head and glances at the walkway between teh bbeds. Just as I thought: It was Percy Weasly and Rufus. I couldnt' believe it: that's who they sent for me?
"Rufus?" I questioned out loud. They both looked towards me.
"Sarah Beth..." He trailed off, coming to the bedside. I knew I looked horrible. Ever since the school year started, I had lost atleast fifteen pounds. My face was always pale and my eyes were always blood shot, accompanied by dark bags beneath them. My hair was most likely a knotted mess. "What have they done to you?"
"I've told you: Miss Carrow, the professsor who's teaching not Muggle Studdies, likes to punish me because I 'act out'."
"I know, that's what you wrote, butI had no clue it was this bad."
"What are you doing?" Percy asked, unsure of what exactly caused the state I was in. It was apparent heh was cluseless to the happening at Hogwarts.
"The Unforgivible Cruses. They're usuing them as punishments. It's the two Carrows and," I stopped, looked around, and lowered my voice. "Vincent and Gregory are good at it, too. Really good. So sometimes, they make them do it instead. Neither of them have gotten me, though. Only the professors."
"Is this even legal?" Rufus questioned. Percy looked at him through his horn rimmed glasses.
"Yes. Remember the Educational Reform that passed in September? It gave them full power over punishments. If they wanted to, they would even..." He trailed off, but we both knew the next word was suppose to be 'kill'.
"I don't suppose it matters much if they follow the Ministry or not, since You-Know-Who is over it..."
"You're correct." Percy admitted. "but I had no clue this was going on."
"It's not like you could stop it."
"Again, you're right."
"So, why did they send you and Rufus, of all people?"
"Well," Rufus started, "Originally, it wasn't us. But a coule days ago we were both notified that we were to take the other guy's places by order of Dolores Umbridge."
"Auntie?" I questioned. Both boys nodded.
"Yes. I found it odd, too." Rufus continued. "So, I went to talk to her."
"As did I." Percy cut in.
"She said to make sure you're okay and to smudge the paperwork."
"What?"
"She wanted us to lie about your evaluation." Percy clarified. "You're suppose to agree that you wiill comply wit hany and all Ministry or educational requests. If you wer eto refuse or break this agreement, you're suppose to be taken into custody."
"I'm not doing anything they say! None of it is right!"
"It's apparaent that you're rebelling, but if you don't atleast start pretending to listen to them, you're going to get sent to Azkaban... or worse..."
"But I"m not hte only one's who rebelling. What about the others?" My mind flashed to the other 'trouble makers' in the school: Neville Longbottom. Luna. Lots of students, much braver than I was, and much stronger.
"No one can find them. As far as we can tell, no one sees them outside of class. That is, when they decide to show up. No one knows where they do."
"Well, that's good for them." I truthfully mumbled; atleast they were safe..
"Look, Sarah Beth, all you have to do is sign this paper and sotp causing so much trouble." Rufus pulled a paper from Percy's clipboard and handed it to me, along with an already dipped quill. "Please just pretend to listen to htem. PLease."
"I can't make that promise, but I'll sign the paper if it will keep the two of you out of trouble." before either of htem could reply, I signed my curvy signature on the provided line, then handed it back to the opened mouth Rufus.
"Frecky, please promise me you'll be careful. PLease, just do what they want."
"I've already told you, I'm not because it's wrong. I just hope you make hte right choices, too." I watched as the paper was put back into Percy's clipboared.
"Freacky, I love you. We have to leave. Please, just promise."
"Okay. I promise." I lied. There was no way I was going ot give in now. I had worked too hard, standing up against them to just give in.
"You only have three months left, then you graduate." He reminded, kissing my forhead.
"If they don't with hold your diploma. "Percy reminded. "They can do that, too."
"We need to go." Rufus motined towards the door. "If we don't get back soon, they'l lget suspicious." He bend down and kissed my forehead again. "Be safe, Frecky."
"I'll try, Rufis. " I gave him hand a squeeze before he started towards the door. Percy started to follow. "Bye, Strawberry Ice." I smiled. He lookedo ver his hsoulder and grinned for what seemed to be the first time since they arrived.
"Bye, Sarah Beth>" He replied and they all went out the door.
"I shifted in my bed, my brain churning. If I messed up, I would probably be sent to Azkaban. Good to know...
"And what was this about Aunite? Had she really sent Rufus and Percy to check up on me? Did hse still care about me? After all, I hadn't heard from her since the day I moved out, as if I would have written back anyway. But she's risking her life to protect me...
"I started to feel sick to my stomach. She loved me enought ot die for me, and all I have done is pus her away. The more I sqelled on it, the worse I felt. As much s I hated to say it, I missed Auntie, and I was affraid something would happen beforeI could tell her. I didn't want her to die (I winced at just the thought) with her thinking I hated her.
Laying back down in the bed, a tear slid down my cheek. All I wanted at the moment was my Auntie.
