45: Time Chair

Author's POV

"So you were aware of Y/n's abilities since the beginning?" Jimin asked Kiara and she smiled. "Y/n and the people of Yuki were immortals. Yuki was a planet that drew powers from the heart of the planet and kept them alive. Y/n was a demi-goddess with powers, gifted to her mothers by the Universe and kept safe to ensure the working of the Multiverse. I took her from her mothers and raised her up so that she can help me assemble the 7 Celestials together because it was impossible for me to travel the infinite Multiverse in search of the particular 7 Celestials among the countless of you all."

"So this was all a set-up?" Y/n asked and all the seven boys softened seeing her broken state. "You just used me for my powers?" She asked. Kiara smiled. "I didn't. You were lost. Like Jimin. I saved you." She said and projected something.

It was a beautiful place, with scenery like no other. Filled with greenery, white flowers all over, and snow-covered mountains at the back. Little Y/n was smiling with the two most beautiful ladies behind her. She plucked a flower and turned around, showing it to them.

"Wow, this is so pretty. Like our princess." One of the women said, bending down and taking the white flower from her. "Thank you." She said, pressing a soft kiss on Y/n's cheek and standing up straight. 

Y/n walked back to the plant with the flowers. The lady turned around and tucked the flower on the other lady's upper ear which she accepted with a big smile on her face. "You look so beautiful." She said and the other lady blushed.

Y/n picked up a flower from the ground but a bee flew towards it. Y/n's eyes glowed silver as she screamed in terror, a star-shaped portal forming behind them. "No! Y/n!" The other lady screamed, trying to reach for Y/n but before both of them could they were sucked up into the portal.

Y/n was being pulled as well but someone held her arm tightly as the portal closed by itself. Y/n pulled her arm back from the grip, crying and walking forward. "Mamma? Mom?" She called, frantically searching for them until someone wearing a yellow cloak approached her. Kiara.

The projection stopped but not the tears from Y/n's eyes. "That was the first time she opened the portal. And I saved her from it."

"She lost her parents," Hoseok said, pressing his lips together to control his tears. "I didn't lose them. I killed them." Y/n said, sobbing.

"No, you didn't. Don't even think that, princess." Taehyung replied immediately, trying not to break Y/n anymore. She scoffed and looked at him darkly, "Okay, so I open a portal with powers I can't control and send them to a random, probably more deadly universe with no way to escape." She said with a bitter smile.

"Listen, Y/n. If your moms are anything like their daughter, they survived." Taehyung said in a serious tone. "I just figured out something," Jungkook said, catching everyone's attention. 

"What?"

"Y/n is not a Goddess or Demi Lovato--" Jungkook was interrupted by Hoseok. "Demi-goddess."

"Yes, that. I know what she is." Jungkook said and Jin quirked an eyebrow, "What?"

"She is a Universal Constant."

Silence.

Jungkook frowned and jerked his hands. "What? You know that part of the equation that doesn't change. All the variables change and alter but she stays the same." He explained. Y/n took a deep breath and turned around to Kiara. "What do you want?" She asked in a cracked voice.

She showed her the throne on which Kibum was sitting. "My Time Chair. I want you all to give me some of your powers to restart my Time Chair."

"Why did you summon Dormammu?" Jimin asked and Kiara smiled at him. "How do you think I am still alive, Jimin? Kibum, Kiran, and all our variants draw immortal life from the Dark Dimension. In return, he just wanted to capture Earth. I gave him that but I think he failed," she said, glancing at Taehyung with a menacing smile.

"Not my concern anymore. I waited hundreds of years for Y/n to use her powers to take me to you all but you never existed till then. Your powers were roaming in the vast Multiverse until the seven of you were born and the powers chose you, residing in your bodies but once I got a hint that all of you used your powers even for once, I plotted my own murder, made Y/n think that she was being chased by my Variants and to do her purpose."

"What is her purpose?" Jin asked, glaring at Kiara.

"To bring the seven of you together."

"Still, you could have just asked her to do it for you. Why did you literally risk her life doing that?" Namjoon asked, squinting his eyes at the old woman. "She doesn't act without fear or shock. I needed to do that. And she doesn't die." Kiara replied.

"Let's just get this over with. I'm tired." Y/n said and looked at Taehyung weakly. "I want to go home." Taehyung smiled slightly and looked at others. "Just follow her. Y/n wants to go back as quickly as possible."

"Yes, your honor. Daddy wants his baby girl to rest. Let's listen to him." Jungkook said dramatically and Jin rolled his eyes. "Let's just do this for Y/n. She needs rest. Dormammu already has exhausted her a lot."

"I don't feel good about this," Hoseok said and Namjoon looked at him. "What do you mean?" 

"I just feel something is wrong." 

"I wanna go home. Let's get this over with. What do we need to do?" Yoongi asked, walking forward. Kibum moved aside and showed the seven pillars of the chair. "Put your hands there and the job will be done."

The seven of them flew towards the high platform. Taehyung slowly brushed his fingers with Y/n's and gave her a warm smile. "We are going home after this, princess." He whispered and Y/n nodded with a small smile. Taehyung's heart ached at her expression but she has been through enough so he understood.

He turned around to face others who nodded at him before placing their hands on the seven pillars, each having a stone of the color of their power attached to it.

The pillars glowed in the color of the respective holder, taking in the energy from the seven Celestials. They restarted the Time Chair. "Now Y/n. Please, insert the Multiversal Engine Core." Kiara motioned Y/n to the bigger pillar with a white crystal on it. She obeyed.

The eight of their eyes glowed to the shade of their own color. They let the pillars go when a loud noise was heard but Jimin was still touching it. "Done! Finally, we can escape!" Kiara said with a victorious smile and the eight of them let go of the pillars. 

However, due to the Time Chair's neuro-kinetic nature, the ship allowed Jimin to look into Kiara's mind. As Kiara was preparing the Time Chair, Jimin saw her numerous travels and the destruction of countless timelines. Horrified by what he saw, he stepped back, and Kiara realized that Jimin knew the truth. 

Kiara looked up at him. Jimin, don't. She tried to persuade Jimin into leaving with him through her mind, but he asked her a different question instead, "Who is Key?" Kiara looked at Jimin helplessly before answering his question,

"Who I need to be."
