Chapter 18: Unexpected Surprise

Y/N's POV

February 9, 2022 

I woke up wanting to throw up again. I ran to the bathroom and throw up once again. This was the second time I had morning sickness, I didn't want to think It could be that Im pregnant, but now it sure seemed like that was the case. I went out to the store, to get a test. After going to the store and buying the test, I took the test, not even considering who is the father which is between Matthew and Joe but it could be Matthew which means if that's the case. Im staying in LA and staying with Matthew, but that would mean I would lose Joe. I waited for the result, and then after waiting,  I looked at the test, and sure enough It was positive. Im pregnant, and my first thought was to call my dad.

* On the phone *

Hey Kiddo, what's going on

Um, Dad, I don't know how else to tell this but you are going to be a Grandpa

YOU'RE PREGNANT?!

Yeah, I just found out right now

I started crying, probably cuz of the hormones.

Oh, Kiddo, it's okay, I'm not mad, I'm shocked, but I'm excited to be Grandpa, and Im happy for you, you are going to be a great Mom.

Im just worried because I might know who the dad is already, but that's going to complicate things

Why, Kiddo?

because, after the Super Bowl is over, I was going to decide whether to stay in LA with Matthew or move to Cincinnati and be with Joe. The problem is if Joe's not the father, I'll have to lose to Olivia, and Sydney will win. 

Who do you think the father is?

I don't think, I know, Matt is the father 

Well, Honey, I know this is hard, and it sounds like you really care about Joe, but if Matthew's the dad then, there is not much to be done. maybe call Sasha and Avery to see what they think.

You're welcome, Kiddo, I'm sorry this situation is rough for you, but whatever you choose to do, I'll always be on your side. 

I ended the call with my dad, I decided to call Sasha 

Hey girl, what's going on

I told her the same things that I told my dad 

Oh my gosh, wow that's not good, I mean the baby really isn't Joe, that's really bad. What if though it is Matthew's, he retires in a few years and you get a job with the Bengals, and you move here 

That won't matter cause the whole reason I'd MOVE to Cincy is to be with Joe.

Well, I don't know, What else to say, Y/N, it is up to you, and what's best, I wish I could say something to help but Im at a loss. 

I just know I can't leave either, but I can't leave Joe, he's already been through so much

I ended the call and thought about telling Joe and Matthew. I have no choice, they have the right to know. I got the test and got in my car and drove to Matthew's place. I knocked on his door and then he opened it. " Hey Darlin', what's going on," Matthew asked. " Can I come in, I have something to tell you," I said. " Sure, you can, come in," Matthew said. We went into his living room and sat on his couch. " Do you want something to drink," Matthew asked. " Water is fine," I said. then Went and got a glass of water. " So, what is it that you wanted to tell me," Matthew asked. I pulled the test out of my bag and showed it to him. " You're pregnant," Matthew asked in shock. I nodded my head while looking down at the ground. " is it possible that Joe or I are the father," Matthew asked.  I nodded my head again, not wanting to look up at Matthew. " Darlin, whoever the father is, I will be okay with it," Matthew said. " you realize whoever the father is, is the deciding factor whether I move to Cincinnati or stay here in LA," I said. " you won't know who the father is until the baby is born," Matthew said. " I might have an idea, based on the timing," I said. " Matthew you and I had sex, after the NFC Championship,  Joe and I had Sex the day after my birthday which was basically 4 months ago," I said. " Wait, So Im the dad," Matthew asked. " Yes, but I can't just leave Joe and we are technically still dating," I said. "I'm sure, Joe can Find someone," Matthew said. " Yea, that someone will be the person that my ex-best friend is trying to push on him," I said. " Plus, I have my friends in Cincinnati," I said. " But, your job, the father of your child, and your dad are here," Matthew said. " Y/N, it sounds like to me, you already knew that you wanted to choose Joe, regardless of who this child's Dad is," Matthew said. " Matty, trust me, it's been tearing me all day," I said. I felt my hormones acting up and I started to cry. Then I felt Matthew embrace me, "I'm so sorry, Matty, Im sorry I can't choose this easily," I said while crying. " Hey, hey, it's ok Darlin'," Matthew said as he caressed my back. " If you really love and care about Joe that much, and want to be with him, then I'll give you up," Matthew said. I looked at Matthew with shock. " What about our baby," I asked. " Joe can raise it as his own," Matthew said. My Heart broke, Matthew was willing to give me up, for my happiness. He really must have loved me a lot.
