As Kunikida furiously scribbled in his book, Dazai opted to stare off into oblivion, before he let out a happy gasp. "Check out that support beam up there!" He glanced up at the beam above our head, smiling like an idiot.
"Don't even think about hanging yourself in this Teahouse." Kunikida shot him down, not entertaining the man.
Dazai turned to Kunikida. "I'm not, I'm thinking of the 'Hanging Health' technique."
"What are you talking about?" Kunikida turned to meet Dazai's gaze, confused.
"Whhaattt? You don't know?" Dazai asked as if Kunikida had just insulted him. "It's so good for releasing muscle tension and shoulder cramps!"
"Woah... that would be perfect for me." Kunikida gasped out, interested in the new development of info he received.
I closed my eyes, sighing. Why'd I get partnered up with these two idiots...
"It would! You should write this down." I opened my eyes again as Kunikida began writing down what Dazai just said.
I averted my gaze to the brunette in front of me, seeing he faced away with a devious smirk on his face. "Im messing with you."
At the sound of Kunikida's pen breaking in half, I slumped my shoulders. "Here we go again..."
"Are these two weirdos really with the Armed Detective Agency?" The boy questioned, unsure as we watched Kunikida strangle Dazai.
"I know it's hard to believe, but they are." I told the boy, his attention turning to me as I stared at the two. "You wouldn't believe it, but they are a couple of our best agents. With Kunikida's strength, compared to Dazai's intellect, they make a damn good team."
"So, uh... about the job you said you're working on..." The boy began asking, turning to the other two.
"WHAT?!" Kunikida shouted, glaring at the poor boy, startling him.
"Sorry, sorry sorry! I really shouldn't have asked!" He began scrambling for words. "Right, that was my mistake. Of course you're jobs are classified. Please forgive me, and don't hurt me!" He began shying away, afraid Kunikida would strangle him next.
"Look the two of you went and scared him." I scolded the two men as they sat back down.
"Actually since you mentioned it, todays job doesn't require any secrecy." Kunikida cleared up, closing his eyes. "It's for the government. We're looking for a tiger."
"A tiger..." The boy trailed off.
"Yes, a ferocious man-eater who has recently appeared in the city. Well, not that we know for sure it's devoured anyone but, it's ransacked warehouses, eaten farm animals, and caused general chaos." Dazai began explaining the mission.
As he did, I noticed the boy seemed lost in thought, causing me to wonder what's up. "The authorities have received all kinds of scary reports about it." Dazai concluded as he boy jumped out of his seat, landing on the floor. "What's wrong Astushi?"
"I-I'll be leaving now... goodbye..." The boy, Atsushi, stammered, attempting to crawl away.
"Not so fast." Kunikida stood up, gripping the collar of Atsushi's shirt, pulling him up. Atsushi began trying to run, but didn't go anywhere due to being held up off the ground. "Do you know something your not sharing with us?"
After a second, the boy stopped trying to run, slumping in Kunikida's hold. "Don't try... there's no way you can stop that animal!" He claimed, staring intently at us.
"Really, now? Tell us what you know about the wheretiger." Kunikida interrogated, seeming suspicious of the boy.
"It's after me, it almost killed me." Atsushi looked shaken up as he began trying to run again. "If it's been seen around here, then I have to go now! Please! I beg you, just let me go!"
