I sighed, taking a sip of my coffee as Kunikida scolded Dazai, once again. "Were you listening to a single word I just said?! My hands might not be as nice as hers, but if you're looking for somebody to break your neck, I think that that honor should go to me! Wouldn't you say?!"

"I was wondering..." Atsushi spoke up from beside me, glancing to the two as Kunikida strangled Dazai. "What were the two of you doing before you joined the Agency?" The two stopped, looking to him, before sitting back down in their seats. "No big deal, I was just curious is all."

"Take a guess." Dazai replied. "It's a game. We've... played it a lot here, actually. The newcomer tries to guess his colleagues former occupation. Think of it as part of training to be a private investigator."

Atsushi turned to the siblings, thinking. "I wanna say Jun'ichirō and Naomi were... students?"

"Woah, you got it!" Jun'ichirō replied, amazed. "Nice one."

"How'd you figure that one out?" Naomi asked.

"I was told you work at the Agency part time. And you're wearing a uniform, so there was a good chance you were still in school. Plus Jun'ichirō and I seemed to be similar in age, just made sense."

"Not half bad Atsushi." Dazai spoke up. "What about Mr. Kunikida?"

Said man spit his drink out, slamming the cup on the counter. "Nobody cares about what I used to be, alright?!"

"Hmm... an official?" Atsushi pondered before peeking up. "Did he hold a government job?"

"Wow..." I mumbled looking at him. "Not a bad guess."

"Almost~ He was a public school teacher, and he taught Mathematics to be exact." Dazai told the boy.

"I can totally picture that, actually..." Atsushi sweat dropped, causing me to chuckle.

"It was another life." Kunikida defended. "I don't even wanna think about it."

I saw Atsushi turn to me, causing me to sigh. "Don't waste your time with mine, I'll just tell you. I didn't have a profession, just finishing up school to become a detective." I shrugged my shoulders.

Atsushi nodded his head. "I see..."

"What about me, then?" Dazai asked Atsushi.

"What did you do?" He asked, turning to look at Dazai.

"Yep." Dazai grinned. "My job."

I saw the gears turning in the boys head as he tried to figure it out. "I have no idea..." He whispered out. "Not a single clue."

"Don't even bother." Kunikida told the boy, pushing his glasses. "His former profession is a mystery to all of us. Nobody here has guessed it."

"He's right." I sighed. "I doubt we'll ever figure it out."

"The person who finally figures it out, collects a reward, isn't that right?" Jun'ichirō told Atsushi.

"A reward?!" I can see the money signs in the boys eyes at the mention of money.

"Yeah, that's true." Dazai admitted. "And because no one's guessed right, it's just skyrocketed."

"So, just out of curiosity, how much is this reward right now?" Atsushi asked, trying to hide his sudden interest.

"700,000 yen." Dazai told him, the boy nearly having a heart attack.

I watched as Atsushi jumped up, standing in front of Dazai, making several guesses. Money aside, I am very curious as to what the man did before working at the Agency.
