| CHAPTER XXVII |
It was a dark and cold morning, as was the coffee that was left on the dining table where Louis and Liam had eaten earlier. They both worked together on stuff related to business and that would be the case for the next few hours. The new appointment implied a meeting with an American businessman and it caused them to fly to New York before I could wake up.
It would be the perfect occasion and I even didn't have to say goodbye to Louis. I had a chance to visit Harry in Italy. This time I was visiting him unexpectedly, taking the next flight to Milan to meet him at work.
A long chill ran through my body at the thought of him, to embrace him and kiss him. But there was still the bad part of it, which was the idea of going home based on the decision I was about to take.
I avoided thinking of the worst while taking my shower, packing and leaving. My comfortable flight proved to be the opposite of the car trip I had to take to art school. The driver I hired didn't speak my language and the communication between us was awful.
As soon as I stepped onto the paved patio, I made my way around the tree before I got near the front desk and asked where Harry was. Fortunately, he was doing what I had previously imagined. He taught a class on the second floor, in a painting room made especially for children.
When I walked up to the window that gave a perfect view of the whole room, I saw Harry sitting at a table while he was evaluating some drawings with another teacher.
He hadn't noticed I was there yet, but all it took me to do was tap on the glass to make those green eyes turn in my direction. A smile came up on his lips, something that made me smile too.
Harry left the other teacher to take care of the children and approached me. He gave me a tight hug full of the desire that we had harbored during the last hours that we had been parted.
"I didn't think I'd see you so soon, how did you manage to get here?"
"Louis is on a business trip, he has no idea I'm here. I can stay until tomorrow, and I think that's enough time for us to decide what to do next."
"Right. Then we don't have much time. I'll get my stuff inside and we can go out for coffee before we go home." he said as he held the doorknob.
"Okay. I'll wait up here."
I waited, feeling a mixture of emotions that came and went between thinking that good and bad things would happen. There was an excitement to be with him, to be able to touch him, to hold him, to have him in my arms. But there was also a fear that this would be the last time in a long time.
We had a lot of things to discuss, but I preferred to leave it for later.
When he took his bag and left, we walked together on the sidewalks of Milan to an old architectural cafe that had been in existence since 1890. It was a cozy place with tables and chairs out there, and that's when we decided to sit down before we place our orders. Harry stood in front of me, with his sunglasses over his head and his hair loose with perfectly combed locks. He wore a button-down shirt in light shades of blue and an extremely delicate gold necklace around his neck that contrasted very well with the green color of his eyes and the natural glow of his sun-tanned skin. Harry was handsome and it was hard to look at him without complimenting him every chance I got.
