| CHAPTER XXXIII |

"Forty days? That's too much time!" I squawked as I spoke to my lawyer on the phone.

"This is the time we need to gather evidence to present to the judge. Only then will we have a hearing."

As I closed my eyes for a short moment, I nodded.

"And you believe I can prove it?"

"I'm not sure. Louis' lawyer may argue that there was no premeditation and that he didn't intend to cause you any mental trouble. So he had no way of knowing, and he's going to say that he didn't notice anything unusual in your behavior."

"But he did! He knew I wasn't okay." I reply.

"His lawyer will make him narrate the events that happened after you got home. He'll say that you had sex with him and that sex was consensual. Which means there wasn't a rape."

I listened attentively to all that my lawyer said and I felt the anger invade my body more and more.

"But even if it wasn't his intent, he made me drink at the party. He did it to see me drunk because he believed I would be more vulnerable. He gave me sleeping pills to enable him to use my cell phone and invade my privacy. He set up a whole plan."

"I know, Zayn. I know." My lawyer noticed my nervousness. "We'll work with what we have, but it's going to be a tough battle. I'll do my best to present the best evidence, but I need time to do it."

"Okay. Thank you Mr. Garrett." I said as I ended the call.

After putting my cell phone in my pocket, I walked to the window of my hotel room. I felt the refreshing afternoon wind hit my face as I opened the curtains.

Rome was beautiful, the sky was incredibly blue, and the view from my window was somewhat privileged. From there, I could see some of the most famous sights, and if I was lucky, I might be able to visit them with Harry later.

The exhibition was about to start at 5 pm and I was ready for the event. I didn't know how many people there would be there, but I was hoping there would be many.

I wanted to see more people praising his work, interested in getting 'em. But I also wanted him to have time for me through it all. We had a lot to talk about.

I looked at the clock one last time. I still had 30 minutes left and I didn't know if it was a good idea to arrive early. My anxiety was intensifying and it didn't leave me alone. I walked around the room memorizing what should be said and how I would do it. It was possible that nothing would go according to plan, but it helped me spend time.

Ten minutes before the show started, I took my invitation and my mobile phone with my room keys. I descended four floors to the reception and from there I walked to the address.
