[Jing Yuan's POV]

I managed to soften the impact from landing. As my blurry vision slowly adjusts to my surroundings, I notice her lying beside me. Quickly, I scoot over to her side. I grip both of her shoulders, gently rocking them back and forth. "Y/n..?" I ask worriedly. She doesn't seem to stir awake anytime soon. I inspect her to check a potential injury she might sustain, but fortunately, there isn't any. Knowing she's okay, I look around the area.

The supposedly coal black walls are luminated by the purple, bluish light exuding from the mysterious fungi around us. To say roughly, all of them are at least two meters high. There seems to be nothing in sight as further as the wall continues. Only faint dripping sound echoes through the cave. It's a completely different world down here...

I carefully lift her in my arms and proceed onward. So far, I haven't found anything amiss. It's all dark and quiet still. I look down at her, admiring her features under the dim light. I can't help but think, 'What a beauty...' The heat slowly creeps from my cheeks to my ears. I wonder why... Maybe it's just warm here.

After exploring this place for a bit, I noticed two tunnels leading elsewhere. One of them emits a soft glow. Who knows it's an escape from here. I tighten my hold around her, making sure it's secure. I then walk through the left tunnel. Instead of an exit, I find a similar environment like just now. The only difference is the sound here. Before I take another step, I hear something slithering across the ground. Just as it ends, I feel her stirring in my arms.

"Y/n?" I call her out with a whisper. She becomes still again. I let out a soft sigh, "Not waking up anytime soon, I see..." The more I think about it, how is she not awake yet? It wouldn't take this long under any normal circumstances, like now. I look down to see her face once again. I notice her slightly troubled expression. A bead of sweat rolls down her face. It doesn't take long before i figure it out— something is deeply wrong with this place. My worry keeps growing for her the longer we stay.

I decide to sit down near the tunnel, resting her head against my laps gently. As I lean back, I mutter, "Please wake up soon..."

After what feels like an eternity, I start to fall asleep slowly until...

"Y/n?" I see her eyes opening bit by bit as she tries to make sense of the situation.

[Back to Y/n's POV]

"H-huh...?" I groggily sit up while his hand supports my back. I turn to look at him. His figure doubled in my vision. I've never felt my head throb so much since a long time ago... My vision is still a little bit hazy as I try to adjust to the lighting. This feels eerily familiar. 'Could it be that...'  "Y/n.." He says my name again with a concerned tone, his eyes not leaving me. I massage my forehead in fatigue, "Where are we..?" I look around and notice the fungis surrounding us. Not to mention, the air in here is moist. He looks at me in the eyes and speaks,"I truly hope you remember this, but we fell through a crack from the upper level not long ago," He then grips on my shoulders. "Enough of that. How are you feeling right now?" The worry in his voice is clear, so is the crease on his eyebrows. I muster up a weak smile as I put my hand on his wrist, "I'm fine.." He nods in understanding as he releases his grips from me. The throbbing has subsided a bit for now, I can only hope that it won't come back.
