this is definitely a street for rich people to shop on. even the stones that make up the walkway are clean and fancy-looking. i admire the tall buildings with their modern displays in the windows as hyunjin leads me to a specific store.

i glance around to check if anyone recognizes him but there aren't many people on this street and everyone seems distracted, either caught up in conversation or staring at their phone screens. i exhale in relief and itch to grab hyunjin's hand but restrain myself, trying to be cautious. he looks at me and smiles.

"this is it," he explains and gestures towards one of the aesthetic buildings. the storefront is white with silver accents. he pushes open the door and holds it for me as i walk in. the large white room is illuminated by warm lighting and pops of tropical colours. the floors are white marble and all the clothes are displayed nicely on metal racks and wooden shelves.

luckily, the clothes i'm wearing are nice (mostly because i work with fashion brands), otherwise, i'm sure i would feel out of place right now. thankfully, we seem to be the only people here besides the lady working at the counter. i look around at the clothes and wait for something to catch my eye. i spot a red jacket and head towards it with hyunjin following close behind me.

i carefully take it off the rack to see it better. the attendant walks over and asks if she can help us find anything. hyunjin politely refuses and she returns to the counter but continues to stare intently at us which is making me feel uncomfortable. hyunjin notices and tries to help me feel more at ease.

"i definitely like the red jacket. i think it would look really good with something like..." he walks over to a different area of the room and i follow him. he takes a white button-up off its rack, holding it up next to the red jacket. "this!" he exclaims.

"i agree," i say, nodding my head slightly. still feeling self-conscious, i look over my shoulder towards the lady at the counter but notice that hyunjin has carefully placed us in the one spot in the store that she can't see. a tall rack of clothing is blocking her view. i turn back to hyunjin and grin. he winks back at me and damn, i could kiss him right now.

instead, i look at the shelf below the button-ups and find a display of pants. i pick up a pair of black ones in my size and show them to hyunjin.

"what about these to complete the look?" i ask.

"those are perfect. you're gonna look fine as hell," he responds and i laugh. then i watch as something catches his eye. after a second he says, "wait here."

hyunjin leaves the safely-out-of-sight section of the store to grab a few things. he comes back with a light blue jacket with clouds on it, a jean shirt, and a pair of pants that match perfectly. he holds them up one by one to get my review.

"i like them all," i admit, smiling. then my smile fades slightly as i notice the price tags. "i should put some of these back though, everything here is so expensive." hyunjin shakes his head.

"no, no, i'm paying, so it's fine. i wouldn't take you to a luxury store and expect you to pay." i debate about arguing to pay half, but i know hyunjin would rather i just accept. a part of my brain tells me that i'm going to have to get used to hyunjin wanting to pay for everything.

"okay, but i'll find a way to make it up to you. okay?"

"okay," hyunjin agrees. a dirty thought materializes in my mind but i swat it away, turning back to the clothes to hide my blush. hyunjin places a hand on my lower back (which doesn't help) and asks, "do you see anything else you like? or are you ready for the next store?"

"oh, yeah," i reply, feeling flustered. "i think i'm done here." i don't look at him and instead place the back of my hand against my cheek to try and cool it down. hyunjin gently takes the clothes i'm holding out of my other hand.

"i'll go pay for these and you can stay here if you want to." i nod, sneaking a peek at him. he looks especially attractive right now, smiling at me with his head tilted to the side and holding a pile of clothes he is about to buy for me. my blush gets worse.

"you're so cute," he compliments before walking away to pay. i try to pull myself together but my heart continues fluttering quickly in my chest. when he's done, we walk out of the store with our first shopping bag of the day.

i don't feel nearly as uneasy at the next store we go in. my attention is entirely focused on hyunjin. instead of shopping for myself, i start picking clothes that i think he would look great in and having him try them on around the store. our pile of items to buy is already stacked high but hyunjin tries on a black celine jacket with stripes on the sleeves.

"woah, hyunjin. you just have to buy this! you have to!"

"i should, but it's kind of expensive..." hyunjin argues, looking at himself in a floor-length mirror.

"you have to, you have to! it looks so good!" i insist. he looks at me and then back to the mirror.

"agh, you're right. i need it."

"yes!" i exclaim happily, clapping my hands. "okay, okay. next store!"

we continue like this for hours, picking out clothes for each other and flirting and laughing together as we go. at one store, hyunjin picks out a nice bag for his mom which i find really endearing.

as we slowly start walking back to hyunjin's apartment, it begins to rain. i look up at the clouds and notice that they are getting darker and darker.

"hyunjin, i think it's about to start pouring," i observe in an amused voice. we look at each other and all the bags of new clothes hanging on our arms. uh oh. almost instantly, the rain starts pouring down.

"run!" hyunjin shrieks, getting soaked as he begins sprinting towards his apartment building. i start cracking up at his posture. his back is hunched over as he runs, trying to use himself to shield his new clothes from getting wet. i catch up to him, laughing hysterically. he's laughing too, and this moment feels so perfect, regardless of how wet we are getting from the rain.

finally, we burst through his apartment door and collapse onto the floor in a pile of wet clothes, bags, and bodies. exhausted from running and unable to contain our laughter, we lay like that, catching our breath as we gaze at the ceiling.

once our chests begin to rise and fall at their usual rhythm, i roll over and prop myself up so i'm hovering above hyunjin. closing my eyes, i lean in and press my damp lips to his.
