     "uhm, hi, do you mind if i film some behind-the-scenes videos of the recording session for stray kids' tiktok account?" i ask the cameraman while he is setting up. he looks a few years older than me and his hair is fluffy and dyed caramel blonde. he's wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up and black cargo pants. i recognize him from the staff meeting on tuesday but i can't remember his name.

     "oh! are you the famous tiktok boy who's been making them go viral?" he asks and it sounds like a warm compliment.

     "ahh, i wouldn't say all that," i respond with a grin. "i did film the last few tiktoks on there though, if that answers your question." he laughs good-naturedly at my answer.

     "well, go for it! filming tiktoks seems to be your calling, don't let me stop you," he says, holding his hands up in surrender which makes me laugh too. then i ask him the question that's on the tip of my tongue.

"would you mind telling me your name again? i'm struggling with the amount of new ones i've been learning these days."

"understandable, don't worry. i'm matt." right, an english name! now i remember him being introduced during the meeting. we quickly dive into a conversation about where we're from and what it's like being in korea as a foreigner. i think we might make good friends. we talk animatedly together while he finishes setting up the two cameras, only parting ways when he is called back to work.

i explore the recording studio space a bit, looking for a good angle to record from that isn't already claimed by the two official cameras. i decide to trust matt's judgement and i find a spot next to him on the side of the recording booth. i quickly realize this is the optimal angle when han walks into the booth and stands near the microphone, right where we can both get a clear shot.

     while matt's goal is to film the entire recording session, my goal is to get a video of the funniest or most interesting-looking take from each of the members. it doesn't matter how they sound because i will have to mute or replace any singing with a different song anyway. regardless, i'm sure that seeing the boys recording something will get stays hyped up for a new comeback.

     once han's sections of s-class are complete, he walks out of the booth proudly, high-fiving his members who are lounging on the couches practicing their parts as they wait for their turn. matt clicks a button to stop recording and turns to me.

     "did you get the shot you wanted?" he asks.

     "yes, i think i did!" i respond happily. then i return my gaze to my screen, trying to find the clip i'm thinking of. finally, i find it: han sassily raising an eyebrow at chan after he was teased for singing one of the words a little too passionately. i laugh out loud and matt looks over curiously. i turn my phone to show him the video and he cracks up too.

     "hyunjin, let's start with the chorus, okay?" i look up when i hear chan's voice fill the room. i quickly pull my phone away from matt and open my camera, fixing it on my boyfriend who has entered the booth. matt starts recording again.

     hyunjin is wearing a red baseball cap and a black hoodie, but while changbin explains how he wants the chorus to sound, hyunjin strips them both off, probably overheating in the small booth. underneath, he is wearing a black t-shirt with planets on it. he looks really good, especially with the headphones resting on his messy pink hair.
