Taehyung let out a frantic gasp as his eyes shot open. He was met by the darkness of his room and the silence of the large house that belonged to just him currently. He pushed himself up and switched on the small lamp beside him, golden hues lighting his room up ever so slightly and giving him support to see what was going on.

Taehyung was absolutely terrified and confused, he breathed heavily and leaned against his chest unable to figure out what to do. He didn't have anyone to call or to talk to since he wasn't close with anyone, but he needed to speak to someone.

He picked up his phone from his bedside table and stared at his contact list. Naturally, he had the urge to call Jeongguk since that was the only person he felt close enough to call at 2 am, so that's what he did.

Taehyung placed the phone against his ear and took deep breaths, jumping when Jeongguk surprisingly picked up.

"Hello?" Jeongguk spoke on the other confused as to why Taehyung was up so late.

"Were you sleeping?" Taehyung asked.

"No, I was just studying. Why? What's wrong?" Jeongguk worriedly asked and hoped that the boy wasn't up to something more unpredictable and borderline illegal.

Taehyung swallowed dryly and let out a deep exhale, "I had a really bad nightmare," he answered and patted his pinky against the corner of his eyes to soak up the tears. He didn't want to cry on call with Jeongguk so he sucked it up, "It felt really real, I think it was a memory."

"What was it?" Jeongguk put his pen down and patiently waited for Taehyung to answer him.

"I don't know how to describe it- I was just somewhere doing something and then these guys started beating me up and calling me a thief," Taehyung's voice began to shake which made him breath in deeply to calm himself down, "I don't know why they said that but it just felt so real and familiar, I'm really scared."

Jeongguk went silent for a bit. He was strangely guilty about Taehyung remembering things like that when he couldn't even recall the reason why. It must be hard to live with such memories and not know why, it's like his mind was punishing him for some unknown reason.

"Are you still home alone?" He asked the boy who hummed.

"I'm gonna go outside though, I really need to go into a busy area- I don't know where but I can't stay here by myself," Taehyung abruptly got up which made Jeongguk panic.

"No wait don't! It's almost 3 am are you insane?! I'll come over, just wait there," Jeongguk shot up from his seat. He wasn't sure if it was because of the innocent memories of Taehyung that caused so much worry in him or the thought of not stopping Taehyung from being murdered, but whatever it was it had him rushing to leave his house.

"Are you sure? It's almost 3 am you're going to have walk in the dark," Taehyung chewed on his bottom lip and began to walk downstairs incase Jeongguk changed his mind.

"It's fine, I'm already outside I'll see you in 20 minutes," Jeongguk hung up leaving Taehyung on edge.

Taehyung let out a stressed sigh and tossed his phone down onto his couch. All he could do now was wait for Jeongguk so he also dropped down onto the couch and stared up at the ceiling whilst waiting for 20 minutes to pass.

He kept checking the time on his phone, groaning when he realised that not long had passed. Taehyung also began to imagine the worst that could have happened to Jeongguk such as being kidnapped, murdered, and robbed.

Thankfully though, he stopped the worrying when Jeongguk scared the living daylights out of him by buzzing the doorbell. He shot up from the couch and quickly opened the door to the worried Jeongguk.
