two weeks later.
Taehyung stared at himself in the mirror, placing his fingertips against his face and touching it lightly. It didn't feel like his at all, he felt as if he was in the wrong body.
It had been two weeks in his apparent home and he was yet to gain any memory of it. There would be a few things that felt familiar, but he couldn't connect any dots.
The two weeks consisted of practicing walking and some extra therapy and tutoring to help with his learning difficulties. There was some progress, he was able to read but struggled with pace and understanding what certain things meant.
That made it even harder to face the world now that he was allowed to go to university again. He felt terrified of facing the unknown, it felt like resuming a life that didn't belong to him and now he had to maintain the same expectations.
Taehyung sighed and picked up his phone, staring at the contact named 'Jeongguk' on his phone. There were barely any texts from them which made him doubt their friendship, but the boy gave him a sense of familiarity and he was the only one that he managed to remember when he first woke up.
We probably just talk a lot in person, he probably doesn't even know what happened. Taehyung tapped on the boys profile picture and smiled at how it a picture of a beautiful young boy with an elderly woman who assumed was his grandma. I wonder how he's been.
Jeongguk stood in front of the principals office, gripping onto the same note that was now crinkled. He had been hesitating for some time, but Taehyung not showing up for months after putting that note out was freaking him out.
He hated the idea of being the last person Taehyung spoke to, so he had to clarify.
Jeongguk took a deep breath and knocked on the door a few times, twisting the door knob when he heard a 'come in' from inside.
The smell of books and paper entered his nose the second he stepped foot inside. The principal greeted him with a smile and she stood up to greet the younger who was busy shutting the door.
"Ah Jeongguk, I was going to call you here," Miss Lee smiled at the boy took a seat in front of her, "What did you need?"
"Um, do you know where Taehyung is?" He asked firstly, already feeling disgusted that he was even speaking the boys name.
"Ah," The woman's face turned serious, "I actually met with him this morning. He's currently in the counsellors office. He was in a car accident recently which is why he hasn't been in."
"What?" Jeongguk's eyebrows creased and confusion settled down on his face.
"Yes, we were notified a while ago but I didn't want to inform you until it was sorted out with police and the lawyers," She pushed some papers away, "I'm sure they've already contacted your parents, or will contact you, but the case is going to have be paused or dropped."
Jeongguk's heart sank, "What? Why? This isn't fair! He can't just get away with it! Even you know he did it, why can't you do anything!" He yelled with tears forming in his eyes again.
"My opinion is an opinion, not a fact. I'm simply believing what the cameras showed whereas the lawyers want concrete evidence that those papers in his hands were exam papers," She explained with a sigh, "And, he's lost his memory."
"All of it?" Jeongguk wiped his face.
"Yes. He can't even remember his birthday and name, he's most likely not going to regain it either as I've been told since he's making almost no progress in his therapy- so the case is going to have to be dropped eventually since he can't testify," Miss Lee felt pity for him, "This is why I was going to call you here earlier."
