taehyung stared at the pages in disbelief, he could tell that he wrote them, but they didn't feel like him. they didn't sound like him, they didn't relate to him, and most of all he didn't remember them. they were also mainly about jeongguk which made him wonder who they really were, particularly one certain entry.

entry **

i just met this really cute guy named jeongguk!!! he seems so sweet and i kind of already have a crush on him so i hope we can be friends. i can't wait to tell jimin about him even though he's gonna get annoyed because all i do is talk

but hey that's why we're best friends i do all the talking while he just sits and tells me to shut up lol

end of entry

taehyung stressfully sighed and put the pages back into the purple book. he then placed it back into jeongguk's backpack and reached for his phone with some hesitation. that's when he blankly stared at jeongguk's contact.

so we aren't best friends since childhood? what? this is giving me a headache. he scrolled past it and clicked on jimin's instead. unfortunately his reading and writing was still rusty, so he pressed the call icon and waited.

"hello? tae? you okay?"

"can we meet up? i wanna speak something," taehyung chewed on his bottom lip.

"yeah sure, want me to come over?"

"yeah," he swallowed dryly.

"okay, i'm on my way now. i'll be there in 15 minutes."

"okay." taehyung waiting for the call to end before lowering his phone into his lap.

the wait felt painfully long, each minute was a drag and he didn't know how to entertain himself while he waited. at times he'd start counting each second to practice his skills, and then other times he'd try figure out what the different icons on his phone meant.

finally he heard the door bell ring which is when he carefully ran downstairs, opening the door widely to a worried jimin.

"what's up? what did you want to ask me?" jimin followed him to the couch in the living room before sitting down beside the boy.

"um," taehyung thought carefully not knowing how to word his thoughts, "i read this...book? i wrote it."

"like a diary?" jimin raised his eyebrow knowing the boy used to write in one. when he received a nod he hummed signaling taehyung to continue.

"and it's told me everything about my past...self? and what happened?" taehyung nervously rubbed his hands together, "can you please just tell me the truth? i know everyone's lying to me. i hate it."

jimin hesitated with his next words. he wasn't exactly keen on being the one who revealed it all, and he had also been warned to wait until taehyung was fully healed before saying anything about what happened.

"i guess you should find out, it's your life you have the right to know and it isn't fair you're living in a lie just because everyone wants to," jimin shuffled uncomfortably, "okay, i'll tell you."

"thank you." taehyung sighed in relief that someone was going to be honest.

"well when uni started a couple of months ago, you met this boy- jeongguk obviously. you wouldn't shut up about him and you two became really good friends, at one point you two actually really liked each other romantically."

"so, we aren't childhood best friends?" taehyung frowned when jimin slowly nodded, "okay, go."

"you weren't sure if you liked him and you didn't want to ruin your friendship with him because genuinely, you guys became so close so fast- probably closer than us two and i've known you see you were in diapers," jimin fondly smiled at the boy.
